Newcomers and Beginners

Hi,

The key in this business is to learn as much as you can about your chosen subject.

It takes time to build and grow a business so if this is all new to you then you've a lot of learning and maybe some frustration ahead.

But your in the right place, so with some hard work and commitment you can build a business that will generate income for many years to come.

Good luck to all who are new.

ps.The only magic button is Learn the basics.

great advice. also, it's good to start off with the free stuff first such as hubpages and squidoo... no matter what, they will turn out to be useful later

I advice newcomers to spend one or two months learning the basics (reading ebooks, attending courses, etc), and spend the rest of the year applying what they have learned.

Another BIG BIG BIG misconception that I have to address here is the 'Myth' that Internet Marketing is the ultimate source of passive income. While this can true in the long run (when you have achieved 'expert status'), newbies must face the fact that they have to go through the learning curve.

Give yourself 3-6 months of solid work before expecting significant results. With some education, discipline and a little perseverance, am sure that success will be yours.

      Good Luck!

So true, Brian. Excellent advice that even some old-timers could do to remember. Learn the basics, then act on them with your eye on the big picture and building a real business. Too many people want to skip the hard part and the work and chase the easy push-button income myth.

    Thanks for the reminder!

There is a definite mindset issue also. You know, it's funny how all the gurus talk to us about mindset and how we should "think" success and write down goals and all that other stuff that we already know.

      HOWEVER

Those same gurus always tell us how we can make $23,555.45 in under 2 months by following THEIR simple system.

What happens here is newbies read this crap, believe it, fall in love with the idea, buy a product expecting THOSE kind of results, then get pissed when it doesn't happen.

So...they buy another...then another...then another and so on.

So right from the start we are conditioned to THINKING that we can get rich quick doing this. That couldn't be further from the truth. Everyone here who is successful at the IM game put in a lot of sweat equity. (Yes, typing a keyboard IS considered sweat equity).

I've even heard a guru (whom I respect a lot) say "if you can't make $2,000 a day doing this, then you should just get the hell out of here)

      Not true, but alright.

Anyway, my point being we are conditioned by the gurus and their sexy sales letters that we can make a killing at this game in no time. And that's just not true.

I've been doing this for over a year and I'm still not rich.

      Good luck folks.

      Peace,

      Shane

I will suggest only one sentence (it's mine - I will have to copyright it one day... ) : "Be your perserverance stronger than your frustration".

        Isn't it the core principle?

That is a very good point! Below is a quote that I have always liked.

"Genius, that power which dazzles mortal eyes, Is oft but perseverance in disguise." - Henry Willard Austin

To me perseverance really sums up the whole make money online experience. I'm new to the Warrior Forum, but not to online marketing and I've found that it can take a long time to get the right information that starts making you a decent income.
