"Defrost" frozen Paypal account - success stories

Hi everybody,

I'm about to install a Paypal button to get paid for an ebook. However, as my Premier account is new and has never received money at all, I'm quite sure I will be blocked.
Not much for the price ($15) but for the amount of sudden transactions.
As far as I understood reading on the web, it's better to email and call them before the button is put in place and show them what will be my plan. But it seems they will freeze account anyway.

The questions are:

has anyone had the same problem?
if so, how did you manage to solve it?

Thanks for advices,

Gabriele

I would not anticipate a problem, but to be safe, call them.

I called them just before I started taking large dollar transactions, just to be safe.

I have never had an issue with them myself.

I have talked to them several times by phone.

The only issues I have with them is over-vigilance. When I go out of town which is rarely, sometimes they will freeze my debit card, then I have to call to have it turned back on.

I suspect that if you spend from your card as a normal person would do, you will not have a problem.

Most of the people I hear getting frozen don't trust PayPal, and they pull all of their winnings everyday, or in some cases, $5,000 to $10,000 per day.

That is just not natural behavior, and it sends up red flags.

See the thing is that when you have a regular PayPal account, they are the responsible party. And if you are pulling money fast, they rightfully think you are risking their money, to cover your own bad-dealings.

However, if you have a PayPal merchant account, then your credit is on the line and not theirs.

I dont think paypal would block you or freeze your account for this. I have had a lot of big transactions through paypal and have never faced this issue.

The only problem I faced when I was travelling and I had used paypal to withdraw money to my bank and they locked my account, which is for security since it was from a different country IP.

Other than that, you can always call them. They will surely help you out.

Thank you very much for your advices; I will surely have them on the phone explaining as much as I can in order to run a smooth process.

Is it true that they record each phone call? Maybe this will help in case of freezing...
