Do you sell or give away your short report

Was wondering do you usually sell or give away your short report? I am in favor of selling them for a small price ($9) and do an upsell thereafter....But was also wondering if giving away instead make more business sense...what is your experience in this?

    I would give away free. But depending on my objective, I may use optin or add my links in the report.

    I don't use them... i turn them into free membership sites and have people join my lists by signing up to the site to access the information!

      Which one?

      I have some that I sell and some that I give away. But very few of them are as short as most people mean when they use the word. I give away a 112-page book when folks sign up for my list, and have a 43-page critter I give out for free, too.

      Standard 8.5x11 format, single spaced, 12 point type.

      A bunch of others in the collection. Depends on what's in them. The stuff that centers on principles I tend to give away. The ones that teach specific techniques, I tend to sell.

      It really depends on your own goals. That's not something anyone else can tell you how to handle.

    I sell them. It is a good mini business to have, and if you have 10-20 of them, the money does add up.

    I would give it away and start building a list.In my experience you will need this as you move forward.
    If you already have a list then sell it to them.

      I have done both. IF I give them away I try to fill them with sales related content to drive them to whatever is for sale.

    I do both, and will continue to do both, because both strategies work.

    Something else that works is to set reports up on an affiliate program and give 100% commissions. There are all kinds of ways to grow your mailing list and make money. The best way ... try them all and see what works for you.

    Most of my short reports are about 30 pages or more....currently I am selling them and using therm to recruit affililates as well.....not sure if this is good enough or should I just give them away as freebies....
