I don't know squat about Facebook marketing but, I don't really see what good it would be to buy fans.

I mean, don't you want a fan to be someone who is interested in your offer? Or is there some other reason that you want to have fans?

1,000 extra people to market to. A 1% success rate would be worth it for me. Plus, drive up the PR of the facebook page, since you're back linking to your own site.

But my imaginary friends never let me down.

Except for Tony. However, he doesn't exist anymore.

I think it taught my other imaginary friends an important lesson.

@cashcow - I agree... why should you want to buy fans without knowing if they are really interested in you and your site?
I´m not really into this facebook marketing yet (although i just read some great stuff about it and just trying to get in it) but i believe it´s the same as with buying email addresses, can´t be good for your business, or?

I did this over at Fiverr and it's not worth it really. I need people at my page that will be interested in my product. I have a lot of people now with Asian sounding names who have no interest at all in my Fan page. Please don't pick me up wrong here, I have no issue with race, creed or whatever, but someone on Fiverr is using Asian groups to boost numbers up. My Fan Page is all about integrating Personal Development with Internet Marketing and they don't comment on it at all!!

The ONLY way in my opinion is to use the Advanced Beta tool that FB gives and get targetted people.

I have seen some offers on here from warriors willing to do this for you and obviously it's a lot more costly than the $5 I paid!!!!

That is different though, email marketing you can't buy a list and spam to. You will do more harm than good.

It can't be bad for your business. Is it good? Maybe not... but definitely not bad. Imagine having 10,000 likes for your page, with a 1% success rate in driving traffic that will purchase something from you, don't you think that would be worth it?

I have 13,000 friends on my myspace, having that many drove up the rank of my page, pr 4 I think, makes my back link more powerful. I think its worth it.

I've used fiverr with much success to get new fans. I mainly use Facebook as a traffic generation tool and most of my niches are accessible to a wide audience. I do make sure that the person blasting the page has a majority of friends located in North America as most of my content is geared towards this area.

I've seen many companies offer targeted fans in guaranteed amounts for hundreds of dollars. I'm not sure that would be worth it though. When going with fiverr, its cheap and sometimes unpredictable but I've seen success first hand.

Has anyone thought about the idea to actually have something so much worth it that the fans would come by themselves? No? Sorry for bothering you then...

I mean you are not marketing to robots with credit cards + I believe that it somehow breaks the FB rules and anyone "marketing" to "their crowd" will be labeled as a nasty person - sooner or later.

Lets assume that the people posting here actually have something worthwhile on their new fanpages. OK?

Right, that's great but if they do not have 10000+ friends to invite to it (and let's face it that is way dubious as FB mirrors real life social behaviour in as much as the outer circle of friends average 150 and the inner circle no more than 20 - 25), then how do they get the exposure for people to like the page?

It is great that you could buy fans, but you are paying something that you know that is going to be low quality. That money and time is better spent at figuring out how to get people that are genuinely interested in your fanpage to actually click the 'like' button.

oh and 1 more thing, I have bought fans from many different providers and I know I would have nowhere near the number of fans if I was doing this the "natural" or safe way alone, Now with my bought fans I regularly interact, talk and what not. Quite happy with my fanpage and will continue to buy more fans in the future...

if you can't get 25 fans to quick i would suggest buying 25 just so you can grab your vanity URL.

Buying Ads that drive click internally to a fan page is a great way to build your list, promote product, spread virally and much more.

I wouldn't recommended buying useless fans from fiver or anything like that. But i do highly recommended you find out the demographics of your niche and set up a couple of Facebook PPC campaigns to run and test what demographics are getting the highest clickthrough rate.

    Hope that helps.

    Luis

unless you have thousands of dollars to spend on advertising (which many of us don't) it would be useless and much more cost effective to just buy targeted likes.

      Take a video!

I hear ya. Buying fans is a bit silly. I mean, I can sell someone fans if they want. I'll just send it to my friends and tell them "click 'like' cuz I said so". I can get you a few hundred worthless "fans" for $20 in about a day!

Is this "Facebook's Advanced Search 2.0"? I'm not familiar with it, but I found a tutorial on how to use it: How to add Facebook's advanced search 2.0 to your profile. | Terry Crosby, Social Media Strategist & Trainer

Originally Posted by LuisHuete View Post

With Facebook Ads you can get really specific as to what demographic sees your ads. It may or may not be cost effective for you. It depends a lot on what you use your fan page for and how much a conversion is worth to you.

And this assumes that you have "something worthwhile" on your fanpage, (thanks Paleochora,) something compelling that will draw people in and get those "likes" naturally.

Sorry iAmNameLess, but 1% of 10,000 sounds a lot like the kind of results that keeps spammers flooding my inbox. In my opinion, not much of a business model. No offense intended. I realize there's a big difference between FB fan pages and unsolicited emails.

In spite of my bias towards natural results, I would imagine it is easier to get more likes after you already have many likes, pack mentality and all that. So maybe the best strategy is to go over to Fiverr and find someone who will get you a couple hundred likes from folks in your target areas, then experiment with Facebook Ads.

I will be putting up a fanpage for a new site/service I'm developing, so I am very interested in your reaults.

      Respectfully,
      -Anita

Run a ppc campaign using your Fan Page as the lander and get fans that are actually interested in your offer. You get to control the targeting and everything. Way more bang for your buck than buying overused fans from fiverr.

Your fans have more visitor value because they liked your because they LIKED your page.
