making money from my site

Need inputs.

What would you say are the best routes to earning money from my website/blog? It's a humor blog so I don't know if I should take the promoting products route?
Currently just got adsense but not sure what else to do. ebooks?

    Couple of things I noticed about your site:

    1. Blogspot - If you think you are going to try out a website for the first time, it is still better to go with a domain and hosting rather than a free website. Blogspot can be shut down at any point in time for no reason.

    2. Comments - If I click the number of comments, it takes me to some "living social" page. Apparently I'm out of the loop because a few hundred of my Facebook friends have it and I have no idea what it is. You aren't going to attract any repeat visitors with shady tactics like this.

    3. About - I don't even know what this is or where it is taking me - never a good sign for a website.

    4. Ad Placement - You want your ad to blend into your website so people are more likely to click on it. Your ad sticks out - badly. I'm guessing a 468x60 in between the posts would work a lot better.


    Honestly, you have a lot of work in front of you. However, it is not impossible to turn your idea into a money making stream. I would focus on doing to the basics of website design and creation before figuring out how to monetize it.

    My advice:
    The first thing that I think you should do is go out and buy a domain and hosting. Set up a Wordpress blog with a very simple theme. POST CONTENT DAILY. I visit humor sites all the time. If you notice, the popular ones are always updated. Make your content viral by adding some share on FB or Twitter plugins. I think that this would be the best way to get your content spread around.

    I would suggest starting a diff website where u can sell products from via affiliates. U will prob have to create physical products related to ur humor content.OR get a lot of traffic & sell banner ads but that will take about a year unless u can pay for traffic & get readers that way.

    I will suggested you put adsense in your website so you can bring income in..but go with linking text ads.so it can blend with your post..the best place you can find that are kontera.com or adbrite.com

    If you're looking for an easy route, AdSense is definitely the way. Make it blend in with your site as much as possible so it's not like a red light advertisement that turns your readers off.

    A more time-consuming route would be to review an affiliate product related to your humor niche. Make your review funny and natural. You can make sales that way.
