A Better Way to Celebrate Milestones?

I'm reading this thread:

and it occurs to me that simply offering a discount, or even a free product, is the easy way out.

Maybe a better way to celebrate might be to link to your favorite thread (not your own) and explain how it helped you reach whatever milestone, or how it helped you reach some other goal.

It's funny you say that John.

I was thinking about this the other day. I've met so many really nice people here I was going to create a mildly humour filled post mentioning all the people I've met, why I listen to them and how much help they've been (naturally John, you'll be included! :p)

I almost feel giving stuff away is a bit promotional, which is fine, I just have nothing really new or groundbreaking to give away.

So I thought either good solid advice or a jolly big "Thank you!
