Going from "b" blogging to "B" Blogging

Rich Dad talks a lot about being a self-employed person or employee versus a Business Owner. I'm curious how many of you have been able to design blogs that serve as a business that is self sustaining and creating passive income for you on a regular basis.

I love my blogs, but have decided that this is the year to become more serious about becoming Business minded while continue to overdeliver on value to my readers.

The question is: how to go from the E/S quadrant to the B quadrant while continuing to over-deliver.

What have been your experiences in this area? Any hints, resources, suggestions?

If I carve it in stone, will that work? Is it okay if it is soapstone, or should I use granite?

Dan's content is irregularly read by handfuls of people. Join the elite few by reading his blog: dcrBlogs.com, following him on Twitter: dcrTweets.com or reading his fiction: dcrWrites.com but NOT by Clicking Here!

Dan also writes content for hire, but you can't afford him anyway.

Brian, can you recommend some good resources for creating a healthy business plan specifically for blogs?

I think that just the fact that you are aware of what you want to do, will make the difference. By over-delivering to your readers, will by default help.

Have you read his book "The Cashflow Quadrant" yet? That is another terrific book by him that further talks about the different quadrants...

Are you also a member of the Rich Dad forum? There is tons of information there as well.

Trying to help, and hope that it did. Good luck, sounds like you have a terrific thing going that seriously benefits your readers, congrats. Send me the link, I would love to check it out.

    Best of Luck,
    Jennifer

Absolutely, love the Rich Dad material. I've played the cashflow 101 game, and am now considering ways to bring passive income to my blog. It's like priming a pump: it takes time, but over time, the water will come with less effort.

The main purpose of a blog should be to help you build a list of subscribers. Without a list you don't really have a business because it could all disappear overnight if your site is hacked, or Google changes their algorithm, for example, and your search engine rankings suddenly plummet.

Yes, I finally started building my lists about a year ago. I plan to start providing more value through my newsletter. My biggest challenge is figuring out where the best use of my time is spent: guest posting, newsletter, creating new content, creating products. I'm a bit beyond the beginner's stage, but still in the business newbie stage.

I am a fan of rich dad, the way you started your post making analysis with the concept in the book drew my attention
