Want to sell some sites, but I use a paid backlink program that people would have to join!

I was thinking about selling some of my sites but I use this service called ezarticlelink (backlink service) that people who buy my sites would have to join to keep the backlinks.

This service also has the option of putting an article directory on my sites so some of the sites I want to sell have article directories on them and some of my sites just have backlinks from this service but no article directory.

I am wondering what people would think about buying a site with an article directory that is unrelated to the topic of the site. The domains are ranking good with the article directory for the domain name. But people would have to pay about 30.00 month to stay in this program if they buy my site. They do have a free program also, but they will probably loose some backlinks over time as some of the sites fall off the program, but they can keep the directory on.

I am just confused as to what to do about these sites that have these article directories if it lowers the value of the sites??

Also because I have a lot of backlinks to these domains (without directories) but it is through a paid service...does that lower the value.

I have never sold any sites before, but it is an area I would like to get into.

Also what if the buyer of my site wants to join the paid part of the backlink program, is it unethical for me to ask them to join under my affiliate link???

I am just nervous about selling sites that I have used this program on...not sure why???

how much do the sites make? If the profits are much more than the $30 a month then it shouldn't be too much of a problem although it could be off putting to some.

The unrelated article directory could be problematic, though.

The sites value would be based on the uniqueness of content, age of the site, number of visitors, and how much money it is making.

I would devalue a site that has a directory on it - but thats my opinion.

I agree with Lee. If the sites are earning decent money monthly, an experienced buyer would understand the need to join the link program perhaps.

If the sites are not earning monthly, you have a problem because they would be buying a site that has an ongoing fee attached to it and that would not be attractive.

Here's what I would do. This idea is based only on sites that will command a decent price. If the sites are earning and the numbers work out - offer 3 months or 6 months of the paid service as part of the sales price (include it in pricing but don't list it as such).

In other words, a feature of the site you are selling would be "X months free membership in XXXX" and a brief explanation that the membership was a big part in creating earnings for the site. That would give the new owner time to replace the link program if he chose to or time to decide whether to continue with it after 3 months or so.

Is there anything in the link terms that prevents you from selling a site using that program (just a thought - probably not).

Keep it simple. Just tell the buyer that you have the links program, and it is up to them to keep it or not. Further explanation of the ins and outs of it all really aren't relevant.

I think your duty is simply to tell them and let them make their own decision. It is not something you should dwell on... sell benefits, as usual!
