Right now I am using hubpages as a way to get my writing published. I have yet to make a penny from their, but I have only 30 hubs. I will be building more in the coming days, as a means to get backlinks to my blog that I am setting up.

Hubpages only allow dofollow links when ur hub reaches a certain level.

To reach that certain level, u need a bunch of pics, vids and social media exposure

So hubpages not to great for SEO purposes.

I love Hubpages. I make revenue from Adsense on Hubpages and I have under 30 Hubs. Hubs get indexed extremely quickly and you can add your blog to the rss module to get some love for it. Hubpages is a great thing.

1.] If you are using HubPages to drive traffic to say your money site than yes it can work out to be very beneficial for you. You would simply be article marketing at that point.

2.] I have seen a large increase of Adsense income with my Hubs. I have quite a large network of Hubs and they are all targeted to go after minimally searched keywords. At last check 72% of them ranked number one for the targeted keyword.

3.] Credibility in what ways? Are you speaking strictly of internet presence or in terms of HubPages alone? Those with high hubscores and profile scores are definitely looked at within the Hubpages community as authority sources.

My success with HubPages can be attributed to writing unique content and going after the aforementioned minimally searched keywords (1000 global searches or less a month). It took a long time to write all of those articles, but it was worth it for me.

I surely get traffic from my hubs right now. But I dont see a sudden increase of earnings from them. But I dont have lots of hubs yet so I cant completely say what will happen in the future. Im yet to make a strategy or whatsoever.

In my view, hubpages are good in ranking your desired keywords whereas making revenues from your hub shouldn't be your top priority. Most of our hubpages rank way much better than squidoo. Do not just build your hub and leave it there and expecting it to rank well. You still need to create backlinks to your hubs.

I use hub pages, but i made a text tab. Put some info in there which is static and contains links etc. Below it is an RSS tab which pulls from my blog. So effectively I don't put any effort into this site, yet it does help in some way. Which is great.

Yes, to all your questions. It is a high authority website, and, because of the effort of the collective, content generally ranks very high.

Strategies? I would recommend doing keyword research prior to writing.

Apparently there are two approaches - seemingly opposite - which goes towards the same direction. Here, I'm referring to the maintenance of the Hubs. On one hand, there's the claim that Hubs must be regularly maintained to achieve the desired outcome. On the other side of the coin, users have expressed the lack of such need (i.e. leaving it on its own).

What I find curious is how do you maintain your hub? By supplementing it with a follow-up Hub or by tweaking the one you've already have at present?

I love hubpages and I use them for everything. I have about 20 and mainly used them for promoting product reviews. They rank high when doing no seo which is always a bonus and I you can add adsense easily. So my vote is thumbs up for hubpages.
