How to outsource SEO, web design, etc?

I hear people say that you can get cheap online marketing services from places like the Philippines and India.

What sites are firms from these countries located?

And better yet, any tips on how to find firms/people from these countries that will produce quality work?

Odesk, Elance, Warriors for hire, etc. Only way to find quality is to either test them out personally, or look at reviews.

I have heard nothing but bad news from people outsourcing. I remember one guy in particular telling me how he got atleast five calls a day from an Indian firm even after telling them to quit.

Dermy...I wouldn't be so quick to bad mouth outsourcing...just because you "hear" nothing but bad things about outsourcing, doesn't exactly mean it's true...while it can and does happen....it's all about finding the right firm or person. How do you think all the "gurus" make a lot of their money?!

By outsourcing such tasks as seo, link building, website creation, web 2.0, etc it gives the person more time to focus on the more important aspects of building a business online...

There are 2 types of people in this world....those who get it and those who don't. The ones that get it know exactly what we are talking about. The ones who don't are left scratching their heads.

There are many online sites which you could go and find quality outsourcing it's just a matter of testing. What I do is post a job then I go ahead and interview the potential provider.

I ask for previous work samples and also look at the reviews others have left about them. This is how I'm able to make my decision on who to use. Even after all of that I've ended up with horrible results which is why when I need to outsource now I create a small job as a test.

If their able to do the job in a timely manner and to my satisfaction then I go ahead and award a bigger job. It takes time but once you work with a reliable provider you start building a relationship and can use them over and over again knowing that the quality of work will be to your satisfaction.

Here are the sites I use when I'm looking for workers.

      RentACoder - PHP and Programming.
Elance - For Content Writers and Web Design
      Odesk - For Article Writers

Again, just test them first and then when you find a good one build a relationship with them.

      Good Luck!

Is it cheaper to outsource than to use an agency to do it for you? I need a SEO specialist to increase our Google ranking but the agencies offering the service are expensive..

Have you tried oDesk or Elance? I think you can rent people from them

I agree but if you need to spend extensive amounts of time searching for the right person, wouldn't it almost be quicker to just learn to do it by yourself?

Does anyone have a concrete example of a person or company who does a great job?

Personally I don't try services from freelancing sites. I always try to get the service from warrior or similar forum. Because we can choose person with qualification.
I recommend you to hire a person from Warrior for hire section to build web site do basic SEO stuff from fiverr. In fiverr you can find many cheap services like social bookmarking, Backlink building, Article submission etc

the best thing is to do is to create processes for whatever it is you want to outsource... then you will be able to give the processes to whoever and have them do the work

one important thing is to figure out yourself a specific amount of work you expect from the freelancer and agree on that output

for example, if a freelancer would work for you for 8 hours writing articles then you might agree on an output of 8 articles per day ...you should agree on this with your freelancer so expectations are clarified on both sides

otherwise, virtual freelancers might come up with lots of excuses for turning in a small amount of work

There are a few sites you can check in on, John Jonas Replace MySelf is the site I use to find worker, this isn't something fast though, I've found hiring these people benifits you in the long run, without a doubt; however, most of them you have to train in your business. These people from the philippines are for sure intelligent and have a great understanding for what it is you want them to do.

As I said they are for the long term where you can train them to know your business, that means you'd have to know your business inside out if you wanted to learn it to someone else. If you only want to outsource a spicific task, then using Elance, rentacoder or odesk is your best bet, these individuals are very well versed at the tasks they say they can do and I've never had a problem.

I think for certain specific, even ongoing tasks, hiring a freelancer from Guru, Odesk etc. can be worthwhile. I myself am a freelancer, and generally speaking, the sort of work you are going to get is based on the quality of the individual, and the task parameters that you provide.

Freelancing sometimes gets a bad rap, and from experience I can say that you might have the what appears, to you, as a very easy task to outsource to a freelancer. The work you get as result is largely affected by the specific task details you provide.

I don't want to bash anyone, but a lot of people seem to be utterly clueless on how to give specific directions to someone else. If your going to hire someone, please, give them the task details required to get the job done right.

Also, please understand the business your in. I frequently come across clients who expect instant high page rank with onsite SEO practices alone. If you are in the business of website building but don't want to deal with SEO, understanding the basic concepts can go a long way towards getting the proper SEO support you need.

Step one is getting it to work for yourself

Then after you are making good money you can replicate yourself by finding people in the Philippines to outsource to.

I have around 45 staff in 9 countries and I can tell you it's definitely worth it.

With outsourcing you can grow your business pretty fast, you just need to test them, read reviews, check up on them and be sure they are doing the work you told them to.

Just like in any company with employees, you hire people who are qualified, train them, pay them and move on
