When will people learn... The Art of Finesse?

I'm getting tired of people in the IM world that have obviously never read a decent book on sales/marketing/business in general...

I actually feel bad for those who think 'blasting' your ad to everyone whether they like it or not, is the way to gain customers... and blatantly lying in their sales copy... they are just spinning their wheels and getting nowhere by using these tactics...

Don't think for a moment that people can't see a scam/unrealistic marketing from miles away...

Learn the Art of Finesse and you will be a thousand times more productive than sitting there spinning your wheels, thinking, well I spammed a bunch of people, got a lot of hits, and nobody purchased anything from me...

While I'm on the subject... Let's take spam emails for instance... people hate it and now we have spam blockers...(however spammers are still trying to beat the system and actually think... well if I can get through their spam blocker and send this email about viagra out to a million people, well I should make some money... WRONG!)

Now let's take a look at the history of pop-up ads... people hate them, I hate them, and you hate them... that's why we all have pop-up blockers now! But now people think, well I can get around the popup blocker by doing a tricky slide in- javascript alternative... guess what... PEOPLE HATE THOSE TOO!

Now comes to forums... Nothing turns me off more than someone that is clearly posting a nonsense topic just trying to get people to go to their website...

Here's my main point... Most of your 'potential clients' are smart enough to read through your bs and can tell a scam from a mile away... If you want any success in business, do your best to try to get some honesty back into your marketing efforts.

Finesse your clients... don't flat out lie to them.


Here's the definition of the word Finesse:

1 : refinement or delicacy of workmanship, structure, or texture
2 : skillful handling of a situation : adroit maneuvering
3 : the withholding of one's highest card or trump in the hope that a lower card will take the trick because the only opposing higher card is in the hand of an opponent who has already played
