Here are three possibilities;

1. You've chosen the wrong demographics.
2. Your ads are written poorly.
3. Your pictures were chosen poorly.

And if you're paying the highest bid you shouldn't be on Facebook in the first place unless you have money to waste.

  Thanks for your response. The ads have received 0 impressions so they have not even had a chance to be tested to see how good/bad they are. So surely it cannot be anything to do with the content of my ads ? I assume if there was an issue with the text/images it would have been dissapproved.
  Also I was bidding a lower amount before but only increased it for testing purposes to see if that would have any effect on the current situation.

Hi mate,

Yes absolutely. The ad is targeted towards people of a certain age group who listen to a specific style of music, and the keywords I've specified include well known artists from that musical genre. I'm sure that level of targeting not be any kind of cause for concern unless I'm mistaken ?
I've only been using FB ads for about a week now and things seemed fine the first couple of days but this sudden standstill on everything is quite frustrating to say the least

Crank up your bid but set a low daily limit. Like $50cpm or $4 per click, but with a daily limit of $60.

Generally you need to crank it up to make them want to show it, then back it down as your ctr % is established.

- I have a pretty high daily limit at the moment. Is that a criteria that may work against me ?

- Also, if you have an ad that stops being shown as much due to low CTR - if I create newer (hopefully improved ads) targetting the same demographic as before then will the new ads be shown ? Or am I penalised and banned from using that demographic permanently due to the first ad which failed ? I hope that makes sense.

Any chance you have set a time to start it at? Any campaign be it with a high or low bid should receive impressions str8 away. If not then there is normally something wrong somewhere.

I think your bid price is too low. Try bumping it up a few cents at a time til you are getting steady impressions.

  If your ads were approved and you haven't seen any impressions its probably because your bids are too low or you set a later date to start your campaign.

  The start date was set for approx 10 hours ago so that can't be the issue. It shows the green arrow indicating the ads/campaign are active. And just for experimentation I put the bid price up to the max suggested bid and that did not make any difference. I am still stuck at 0 impressions.
  
  I sent a message to Facebook support but from what other people have told me, I probably won't hear back from them. Anyone got any other theories ?

I've had a rough time with fb ads (lost over $1200) but there's some opportunity there or we wouldn't be seeing any! haha

I think there are better ways to market through fb (actually I know so!)

You may try switching your bid to CPM instead of CPC.

Every ad that I have submitted with CPM gets a bunch of impressions right out of the gate. Even with a lower than recommended bid. FB gets paid for every impression served, so even if your ad sucks and never gets clicked they still show it.

Watch it closely though...ads that don't perform well can end up being pretty expensive per click.

At least you'll have some data about your ads this way.

Are you targeting folks on their birthdays or exact ages? I've tried to use the 'target on birthdays' and this feature got 0 impressions for me. Not sure if anyone else has had this same issue with facebook targeting on bdays for their ads.

Would you mind posting the ad in the forum so we can take a look at it in depth?

Yes all of this is "normal" with facebook. Sometimes I submmit the exact same ad through different accounts and one will get approved while the other will not. Sometimes some of my ads takes DAYS to get approved or denied. And about not getting impressions, what I have noticed is that it might be the timing. For example, if I'm running an ad for the keyword "cooking" it may not get any impressions during the day, but in the evening time, I GET FLOODED with traffic. The trick is to submit multiple ads with different variations. This way, once they're approved, you can tweak them without having to resubmit the ad and play the waiting game.

It takes a lot of patience depending on which kind of ads you're running. Last week I must have submitted over 40 ads that got denied and some did get approved. Its very tricky and unpredictable when you submit ads with them. Some of mine get approved within minutes, while others can take days.

The key is to not lose your patience. Also, don't bid on the highest suggested bid. If your target audience reaches over 100k you can bid as low as a few cents per click. On some of the ones I run, they "suggest" 1.49 per click, but I bid on .10 cents and get good CTR.

There was a script I was using a while back that I got on Clickbank that sent the mods to a link of your choice, and then once the ad was published, allowed you to change the link to any website you wanted. For example, you could sned the mods to a heavy content site that was guaranteed to get approved (even if it wasn't your website), and then once approved, send the traffic to a squeeze or Clickbank sales page.

I used it for a while but then my ad was suspended after about 3 weeks. Facebook probably got wise so I haven't tried it again. It was worth it. I got almost 200 leads from that ad if I remember correctly.

That's interesting.. I submit ads and send people straight to my hoplink. I did this over the weekend and drove something around 400 clicks to my link and sold around $100 in products. The ad cost me a total of $5 bucks!

So I went back and created a sandwich page to collect some of that traffic! Will be testing those this week!

Perhaps your targeting is too specific. Try opening your ad up to a wider audience. Another thing you can try is raising your bid price, until you start to get impressions, then once you do switch it back to your original bid and hopefully the traffic will still flow.

  Total sales volume was $105. I spent $5 to run the PPC campaign. That was sending people straight to the sales page. So total profit would be $100 for one ad in one day. Not too bad??

  Ive never had this happen, but it could be one of two things...
  
  1. Low bid price
  2. Too small of a target audience
  
  Your bid price sounds fine, so I wouldnt worry about that. I usually bid around .31 or less on pretty large demographics and get instant traffic.
  
  Keep us updated, I would like to know whats going on as Ive had several affiliates who have had this problem.

  Start with a higher bid, as you get impressions, you can measure CTR. Once you have ok CTR, you can lower the ad spend and they'll keep displaying them.

  Hi Saimanr.. any updates? I'm facing the same issue as well. Over 24 hours since ad has been approved and no impressions being served yet.
  
  Just updated my bid price in the median range and also increased the demographics.. for the niche i'm advertising on, the demogprahics show up around 19,000 users. Not that high but considering my niche and eliminating irrelevant clicks, that is where I got to.
  
  Would like to know if you made any changes and if it has helped in getting your ads being shown.
