Not Many Warriors are "Warriors"

I just received the 2011 Buyer's Guide from the Information Marketing Association and see very few Warriors listed.

(Maybe you don't like to get great marketing insights from Dan Kennedy?)

The Guide has sections for coaching, copywriting, consulting, software, writers, graphic design, information products, marketing, website development, and so on.

Plenty of Warriors provide those services. You should be listed.

I get referrals and sell my products from resources like that all the time. The Warrior Forum may be my favorite forum, but it's only one place.

What I'm saying is ... take what you learn here then apply it. Take action.

- Are you only selling your product as a WSO? Or are you using the WSO forum to make some money AND testing different marketing strategies to also sell your product elsewhere (or decide that maybe it is not worth selling)?

- Or reverse that. Are you making use of free places to promote your product to test different marketing strategies so that you can then have a more effective WSO?

- Do you make any effort to keep track of anything and your results?

- Is this the only forum you participate in?

- Are you dropping your link in some obscure forum profile page no one will see, or are you dropping your link in a place where it will be seen because you are participating?

- Does "offline" marketing to you mean just selling to "offline" businesses? Or does it also mean using "offline" media to promote your online business?

- Do you sincerely have a business? There is another thread right now where someone is debating whether to purchase some domain like sonymodelpce2329082347223alskdf.com Really? Instead of going for the lowest hanging fruit you can find, how about going for the gold?

- Are you getting any backlinks (aka REFERRALS) from others because you are offering something of value they are willing to recommend?

Don't just read the forum. Be a Warrior.

You're right - a lot of us don't spread the word enough. I'm utterly guilty of this and people have to try really hard to get me to tell them what I do. I often think that I'm contaminating a conversation by talking about myself. I love to help others and really hold back from pro-actively promoting myself.

Too much US-centered. Even their "international" sales form is identical with the one for the US... listing benefits (#7 and #8 for example) that are clearly not available for non-US residents.

Sorry, I was really interested but seeing the usual American ethnocentrism even from big gun marketers - pushes me away big time.

    Good MAN - great post.

Funny how some people think in "silos" and don't think that online businesses are real businesses.
