How do you find affiliates and JV partners?

I first started out in IM as an affiliate for music-related software about 9 years ago. It was easy to find stuff to sell, because most products were centralized in ClickBank or other affiliate networks. Then the software developers started pestering me to sell their stuff.

But now that I'm on the other side (as the product owner with my own hosted affiliate system), I'm finding it tough to find affiliates and partners. Especially the top affiliates who know how to sell or who have established lists.

I've got a list of websites and IMers to contact via email (that's on the schedule for tomorrow!), and I'm emailing my list to find "in-house" affiliates, but I feel like I'm missing something...

How do you find JV partners and affiliates?

Any pointers?

Ronnie

    Hi Ronnie,

The JV section here is a good place to start:

What Jared said. If you've got a rockin' product in a rockin' niche, you shouldn't have a problem getting a JV.

Thanks for the tips. I've actually posted a message in the JV forum but haven't gotten much attention and I'm not sure how much traffic that section gets.

    Any other ideas?

Or perhaps, ideas on how to approach a prospective affiliate via email?

    Thanks!

      Hi Ronnie,

I am not sure if you have heard of this before, but Brad Callen has a site that can help with your search. You can find it at -- affiliateelite.com -- This is one way to find affiliates/jv partners. I have not heard of any negative feedback and the price to start is very low.

You should check it out as another option. Hope this helps,

      Kelly

That's great! I hadn't heard of affiliate elite, thanks for the tip! It's great you can use it as a vendor as well (not just as an affiliate!)

Emails to major Internet marketers will never get through. Instead, try couriering them a professionally done presentation package of the benefits of working with you.

Garland, I totally agree! I'm considering a mail-out package for some affiliates, but it's not so much the major players that I'm after (although it'd be nice), but even the average affiliate who can sell a handful.

Since it's a PLR membership, my membership is capped to retain value for members, so it's not about getting 1000s of referrals or anything.
