Who else is tired of the IM guru's inconsistant message?

I apologize up-front for the rant here, but I am just so sick and tired of the inconstancy in the message of every guru out there. My intention is not to start a flame-war or be a rabble-rouser, I just need to get this off my chest so I can get back to work.

I know everybody is getting email after email from all of the major and minor IM people pushing every new IM program as if every single one of them is the best program ever (no wait, THIS one is the best this week...wait THIS one is really the best now...). And EVERYTHING has to be hyped beyond belief. To me, all this crap is just burning everybody out.

My biggest beef is not even the ridiculous hype festival but that I have not seen a single email pushing a new IM program that starts with, "I have personally went through this program and used the system and made money". It's always nebulous statements such as, "This thing looks awesome", or "This guy is killing it!", or "This is the same approach I have been using", or, "This guy always puts out good stuff".

Nobody cares about their word meaning anything, it's just about making a buck on a program they have not even read/listened to/watched, let alone actually used.

To be honest, there are some who will send out a pitch email stating, "I have not had time to review this yet" Okay, thanks for the honesty, but if you have not actually reviewed the product, WTF are you putting your name behind it???!!! Because your buddy, or a friend of your buddy, made it?

What is really aggravating is that all IM gurus teach to always treat your list good and provide good content, don't always pitch. Yet, I cannot find a single email from any of them that just provides content, without a pitch somewhere in there, or a link to a blog post that has a pitch. Everytime I get an email that starts off stating "I got some great FREE content for you that you can use in your business" ALWAYS has a pitch somewhere, even if the content is a lead-in to a pitch. Why not just occasionally send an email with some good usable content that does not have a pitch associated with it? Isn't this what they all teach, don't always be pitching to your list? If the theme is to help your list, why does every piece of good info have to be tethered to a money-making opportunity for the sender?

I totally get that everybody has to make money, and that is the point of having a list. I surely don't begrudge anyone a dime for their efforts, but at least sending one completely pitch-free email every couple of weeks providing good, helpful content would be consistent with their teachings.

My gripe here is not the pitching itself, or any program in particular (because most every program will work if you actually get off your ass and work it), my gripe is only the inconsistency in the message.

I am just gonna unsubscribe from most of the IM mailing lists I am on and stick to the Warrior Forum to be informed of any new products.

Again, sorry for the rant. I am not trying to start a thread where everybody bitches about this because that is not helpful to anybody (only I get to bitch, right? )

Stay classy, San Diego!

Maybe you're on the 'wrong' lists, Steve?

My affiliate reviews are almost always based on PERSONAL
testing or study of the program being promoted.

Most lists I'm on are the same.

    All success

I am going to ammend my post and mention that an exemption from the rant above. Rich Schefren has sent some really great info that was completely unattached from a particular product.

As I was going through my email unsubscribing from almost everybody, I realized that I had missed some really good stuff from Rich just because I had become so numb to getting email from guru types.
