Need help with local businesses...

I'm creating a report that I'm planning on selling to local business owners for $7 (as an entry-point into my funnel)...

Where would be some good places to find local business owners online other than using PPC? Anyone know of any ezines I could do solo ads to or a good list broker where I could get a decent list for a reasonable price?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

How about reading local news mags (which will survive on paid advertising)? The paper things that your parents might have read....! Those businesses who advertise in there are used to a monthly advertising spend.

The PPC guys you find are already partly "there" - or they'd not be doing PPC, would they?

Master Resale Rights are so versatile, and these are educational, too. All kinds of IM material. Read, sell, break up into articles, combine into bundles, and there are 250 of them, complete with MRR, here for a bargain price! I'm even throwing in the sales page. Only £37 for Warriors. http://www.250mrrproducts.com

Local newspapers are a great way to find out what businesses are online and as Sue says, they are used to spending money ....lots of it if they pay for newspaper ads.

The man who rents the store downstairs from my office regularly throws £400 away every week just for a small ad in our local newspaper.

    Linked-In. LOADED with business owners.

Forget the $7 entry report. Publish a monthly internet marketing newsletter for free.

Each month target one strategy and use the old... Tell them what to do, sell them how to do it.

Example... if an issue was called "#1 in Google!" and you talked about how easy it was to get ranked with backlinks and video - they still need you because they'll see the need but avoid the pain of self-learning.

I agree with the "forget $7" and get them the newsletter (and added to your list). Once they see the value you provide...they will come.

Have you done a search for forums for the particular area(s) or trades/professions that you're looking to target?

Offering free copies to the high posters would help you establish credibility if they like and give you social proofing to help draw in others.

Depending on where you live, there might be some forums that are dedicated solely to your local area. Where I am, there are a few forums where people just talk about local goings-on, and it's chock full of local business owners. By becoming a valuable member of something like that, you could reach a ton of people for free.
