Hi all,

How is it that WordPress blog files don't end with the .php file extension when WordPress is coded primarily in PHP? Please share your knowledge on this...

Every "WP file" is ending in .php because every WordPress file is a PHP file (except the CSS and JS files, of course).

You are NOT asking about the WP files... you are wondering about the URL of your WP posts and Pages.

Those are NOT files. Your content is NOT stored in files. Content (posts, Pages, comments and settings) is stored in the MySQL database.

Why do you need the .php extension, btw?

What's btw? Ok, so you are saying that it's not necessary for my posts, pages, etc... to end in .php or .html?

I see alot of sites run by WordPress have files that end with the .html file extensions and others that don't. So my question is: Is it necessary to have posts and other pages on my site end in .html? I heard that its what Google wants. Please share your thoughs on this.

Nonsense... and absolutely NOT related to the original question.

Yes, I am saying exactly that. Millions of WP blogs are doing well without any extension, so you don't need it either.

Which part you need elaboration on? And mainly: WHY?
          - Let me guess: post count increase with nonsense posts....

I am sharing my "thoughts" the third time on this: you do NOT need any extension. Period.

I don't care what you heard... (hearsay is not an accepted reliable source) and definitely I haven't meet ever anyone who knew what G. wants.
G, as any other search engine, doesn't care about your extensions - it cares about your upadated, original content.

Focus your energy and mind on that: creating your original, good content and forget the irrelevant issues.
