Duplicate Content over Privacy Policy, TOS, Compensation Disclosure?

Hi guys,

I'm wondering if you have ever run across problems over duplicate content over privacy policy, TOS, or compensation disclosure since it's just a cut & paste job for all of your sites. The only things you would change is the the site name and possibly other minor differences you might have for each site. How does Google handle duplicate content over these subordinate pages especially since you won't be getting backlinks (at least majority of the times) for these pages?

    Duplicate content = content on your own site. Not content found on multiple sites. That would be syndicated content.

    You've been reading bad information that is giving you bad ideas.

    Don't worry about it. Add your TOS, Privacy etc... pages and move on to the important stuff.

    Duplicate content isn't like a virus that will infect your whole site. If there are some pages that contain duplicate content, it will not pull the rest of your site down with it.

    Cashcow is right. Since you are not trying to rank highly with those pages, then it should not be a problem.

    However, if you took the time to post this question, perhaps you might have some time to customize each PP for all of your pages. Just a thought - if you have time or interest. It's always good to make everything as related to the site as possible.
