NOTES: We have to admit that there are so many info products on article marketing these days. Bryan's report may be of outstanding quality, but first thing's first: the prospects should be told that his report is different from all the others out there. Additionally, the best audience for such a report would be newbies in internet marketing. This is how the usage of cartoon cliparts was decided upon instead of conventional stock photos. Cliparts have that "entry level" feel. They give the impression that everything can be very easy, very simple and very pleasing. Also, as mentioned earlier, cliparts in eCovers isn't an overused technique. Cliparts make the eCover different, hence, they make the eBook stand out. Well, that's my opinion at least.

NOTES: Title makes a grand claim... a promise even. So, eCover should reflect the magnitude of such. Big fonts... really big fonts. Title also demands a small sacrifice from the reader, namely "with only a little more effort." Small fonts for this "qualification" against the big fonts of the title will carry the point well, in my opinion at least.

This isn't the totality of Doug's request. His request, in fact, was so difficult (for me and my limited Photoshop skills at least) that I wanted to give up.

Doug wanted a golden doorknob connected to a PC opening up a bank vault loaded with mountains of cash.

Requests are always dependent on the availability of appropriate images and, if such are available, the manipulability of the same. This being a free offer, and I being a mere hobbyist, I can only rely on royalty-free photos.

I found it hard to find appropriate and manipulable photos for Doug's request.

There were images, yes, but they weren't enough with what I had in mind. Clearly, if the images were to be made the centerpiece of the eCover, it will be one giant FAIL (colloquial word from the World of Warcraft).

So I set forth to make the design carry the images.

I don't know if this satisfies Doug's expectations. If it is still one giant FAIL, however, rest assured that it's not for lack of trying.

Prepared complementing header and background too...

NOTES: Just like Kate's request, Willie's didn't give me much to work with. The challenge was to come up with a design that that would be able to hide the dead spaces that are to be expected with basic titles like this. The above image is my second design for Willie's request. The first has more flash, but the problem is, the basic title wasn't able to carry the color scheme and the elements. "Full of sound and fury" as Shakespeare would say. The design above is more straighforward, cleaner, timeless, classic. Yes indeed - textbook - which perfectly matches Willie's project both figuratively and literally.

NOTES: The problem presented by the request is this: how can you present it in a way that will make people take it seriously without compromising the nature of the material? Several images came to mind, however, none of them were found in royalty-free stock photo websites. Hence, a different approach had to be formulated - branding the product much as how a TV network would brand a sitcom. Hence, appropriate and distinctive font type was used, one which was not too tight as conventional characters but was not too "out of this world" that might alienate people. Fun and stimulating colors were also chosen. Emphasis was given on the title, much like how you'd know that an episode of Seinfeld was up by simply looking at font characters that you have become familiar with, even if you haven't read what they were conveying. The eCover may be criticized as too simple, but it's meant to be that way. I have tried to add more elements to cover up the dead space, but it just didn't work. They just made the cover look hokey. So, I just enlarged the fonts to fill up most of the page and minimize the empty space.

Hi Bizbooks! Thanks for the encouraging words. However, this isn't my line of work. I don't do graphic design for a living, so no WSO is forthcoming regarding this matter (there's one about info product creation service on the horizon, though).

This is just a hobby, and I'm learning the ropes. Veteran graphic designers like the gentleman quoted below will immediately see the simplistic techniques I employ. I can't do the fancy stuff, not yet at least.

NOTES: You didn't give me much to work with, Kate, lol. My fault though, I should've asked for more details if I had time. This project was a design dilemma. The title was pretty straightforward, so it MUST be emphasized. However, as with most eBook titles, a secondary title would've helped fill up the flat cover and add purpose to the elements. I didn't have a secondary title. 7 Days 7 Blogs connotes expediency and speed. It pertains to a fast business model. Hence, the fonts should reflect that. The font type for the movie The Fast and the Furious, and its sequel, 2 Fast 2 Furious, was used, namely: Incided901 BT. "For Newbies" used a script-type font to denote a "by the way" feeling, so as not to alienate intermediate marketers who may want to give the product a shot. Sorry for the rather non-uncommon stock photo used as the more appropriate ones were not royalty-free.

I do research behind the personalities involved and the products as well if info would be available, to come up with appropriate eCovers. Jinmin's request, for example, is quite complicated. I'm conceptualizing his eCover right now, but I'm having a hard time finding a way to make the said cover sell his product as much as his name because Jinmin is a major player in network marketing.

Thanks for making the effort man. I know it was kind of a difficult request, but I like your skills and you can't beat free.

Truth be told, I was looking to show more of the "inside" of the bank vault
to build more desire for what's possible with the system,
