Are there any decent online free list building services that I can use so visitors to my site can sign up to a newsletter?

        You can definitely check out mailchimp : Pricing | MailChimp

        They are free for up to 2000 subscribers which is pretty cool. They are pretty strict on their guidelines tho so be ready to receive some warnings from them if you have more than 1% unsubscribe rate on a specific mailing, more than 0.1% complain rate, etc.

    Mail chimp is too complex unless you're a techy type of person. Listwire is OK, easier to make an autoresponder form than with mailchimp, just looking into it now. For absolute FREEness and simplicity you can try freeautobot.com, seriously easy to use, a bit limited in functions than the others but works OK

    Don't go cheap on autoresponder software...You will find it is one of the best investment in IM....I used to have a self-host autoresponder plugin and realize I made a huge mistake. Now,I got Imnicamail.com and never look back since.

    Case in point, there are certain tools or services you MUST pay in order to keep your IM business running and autoresponder is one of them.

      Are you guys aware that that MailChimp hates affiliate marketers and if you are caught using their system, your account will be terminated(Without warning) and you will lose any lists you have created.

      @The OP

      When it comes to online business, your list is your most valueble asset and you must get it right the first time, if you can't afford $19(Or $1 first month trial) for Aweber then maybe you should get a job, save some money, then come back when you can.

      Alternatively, Imnica mail is another good quality service, the owner frequents the forum and you can get unlimited Autoresponders for around $9 through his WSO right here: http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...ure-added.html

      Avoid free services like the plaque as when you inevitably move to a paid one, they will force your subscribers to opt-in again(losing 90% of them) and you will have to start over.

    icontact right now has a 60 day free trial. That should be long enough to see if you can get some subscribers. Like others have said, I wouldn't use a free one for this... its the best money you can spend in IM.

    The reason I'm hesitant to pay for one is that I havent even opened my site yet, I'm just working on the design and writing articles for it at the moment. It's a site about blogging- articles on starting one up, getting traffic, earning money from, etc- and I have no idea whether it'll even take off so I guess I'm just a bit weary about throwing money at it at this stage.

    What dya reckon?

      Eric, the issue with starting off using the free route is that you'll almost always end up wanting to upgrade to a paid autoresponder service, and due to the double opt-in process that is required by just about every major autoresponder, you'll typically end up losing many subscribers when you switch over to a paid service.
