What is a Premium domain name?

Hi Warriors,

I know what it is but how do you explain it it to someone else?
eg, money.com is one but what makes it a Premium domain name?

Hope my question made sense...lol

    Here is a way to explain it:

    A premium domain will be more expensive than a new domain (premiums range from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars) depending on the name. The price is determined based on marketability, spelling, traffic, and economic trends. Highly notable domains have stronger branding potential, are easier to remember, and attract more traffic – so they may bring a higher price tag – but depending on the name and what you intend your site to do for your business, it may be worth the investment.

    Since there are many applications and interpretations of the word "premium", it's impossible to give a definitive answer to this question.

    The dictionary says: "having or reflecting superior quality or value".

    Generally speaking, when a domain name is "premium", it simply means it is perceived by most to be superior to run-of-the-mill domains.

    The quality of a domain name has nothing to do with Pr, traffic, backlinks etc. Those are attributes associated with a website, not a domain name.

    in general short, keyword rich, memorable domains are considered premium.
