Howdy folks. I'm just wondering what are some high end (over $3,000.00) items that a) Amazon sells, and b) are items that people would be OK scooping up from an online source. This would generally rule out things like Rolex watches, top of the line drum sets and yachts.

Also, before this turns into some grand debate on business strategy - I'm not asking to use this as some sort of new plan for untold millions, I just need the info to help with a theory I'm testing with some other cats. So please don't skim this OP and drop a "you shouldn't try this cuz you won't make a dime" comment.

Any ideas?

Wow, not a peep. Oh well. Should have asked for advice on how to do my article marketing, or maybe "what's the best spinner".

Ha, it's good that you know how things work around here!

I haven't got much to say on the subject except that you're absolutely right about people simply not buying certain things online. You can find high-ticket items in any category simply by going to the category and sorting by Price: Highest first. You get ALL sorts of stuff priced at tens of thousands, but I wonder how much they really sell that way, and how much is just a way for companies to get leads. I know I have some niches where I get plenty of targeted traffic and clickthroughs to Amazon, but very poor conversions, not because of the price but because of the type of product.

On the other hand, speaking for myself, I am comfortable buying high-ticket items that are mass-market and therefore reviewed to death, covered with all the warranties etc. For example, if I know that the XYZ hi-fi amplifier, priced at several thousands $$, has been highly rated by all the magazines, maybe I even went to a shop to hear it in action, then I find it on Amazon (via your affiliate site) for the lowest price, sure I'll buy it from there!

A set of patio doors that need fitting, installation and maybe some follow-up customer service... Hmm, maybe I'd sooner go with a local supplier.

Who says you can't earn money as an eBay affiliate any more? My stats say otherwise

    Tv's
    Projectors
    Home Theater Systems

Are some things that quickly came to mind. When it comes to High end musical instruments, people are often trying the equipment on the local music shop, then going online to look for a better price. I think thats a very common pattern for many niches, maybe not the 300.000$ jewelry, but who knows.

Also, some desktop computer's and laptops are quite expensive with some decent reviews.

This is actually very interesting and it would be great if someone with actual experience on the matter would contribute.

I'd pretty much agree with your assessment of the types of luxury items people typically won't buy online, with the exception of watches.

I've encountered many high-end watch sites dedicated exclusively to high-dollar collectibles like IWC, Porsche Design, Panerai, Bell&Ross, Cartier, etc., so there is definitely a market for this. (You'll find them on Amazon too, naturally). They sell these online at a significant discount off the list price, and they are definitely selling briskly.

Also, jewelry seems to be popular on Amazon. Here you'll see an admittedly off-the-chart example of an 8 carat diamond being offered for around $932k - Amazon.com: Certified Diamond (Heart, Good cut,...Amazon.com: Certified Diamond (Heart, Good cut,...

Of course, audiovisual stuff is also pretty prevalent too, as plasma/LCD televisions and home theater sets typically sell at an attractive discount on Amazon, and with free shipping it becomes even more appealing.

Peter, one reason you may not have seen much response could be time zones.

According to the time stamps, you posted at 3:23 AM EST in the USA. Your 'cricket' post shows at 4:16 AM.

      Just sayin'...

As for your actual question, there are a lot of big-buck items people are interested in, from commercial-grade shop tools and appliances to jewelry to, as was already mentioned, home theater equipment.

My biggest sale ever was a pure accident. I had an article on buying outdoor furniture, and to illustrate it, I used an image of a set on Amazon and linked it to the sales page. Someone, I'm assuming a resort or restaurant or something, clicked the link and ended up ordering 35 sets.

I'm not taking any great credit for that, but it does show that there is more than one route to reaching a 'big ticket'...

There are also many high end Amazon products selling extremely well that are not widely touted. We sell industrial equipment, tools and machinery using product reviews targeting niche markets online and offline. I don't think you will find anyone willing to be very specific regarding their most profitable strategies. There are, however, a number of WSOs with some very good techniques for finding and selling high end Amazon products.

Who can advise how to go about getting affiliates to sell my Biggest Loser Retreat service? It is a unique service and bigger ticket than most of the affiliate marketing setups are geared for. Even a 10% commission will result in $700 per 30-day booking. I just need to find a tracking method that is feasible. The one I set up through WP makes it hard to track unless the person signs up and pays online. Usually, they want to talk to me and do it over the phone. I'm stuck on this dilemma and can't seem to move forward in enticing affiliates to help me.

Because of their 24 hour cookie it makes it hard to sell high ticket items there.

You can find them by selecting a specific category and then going to the "sort by" drop down to the far right. Then select high to low.

Don't think most people on the WF believe in HIGH TICKET Items.... perhaps thats why you are not getting many responses.

I love high ticket items but I don't work with Amazon.
