How NOT to earn my business in 3 easy steps.
I just wanted to give some insight as to how I (a prospect in this case) interpreted this solicitation and why it made me choose NOT to work with this individual. Keep in mind that I actually AM interested in working with a copywriter for this particular product.
===================================
Step 1. Come off in a condescending tone.
Hi, My name is ******* and today I was checking out products to promote to my subscribers on Clickbank, and I stumbled upon your sales letter. I must say that I really like the concept of your product, and I think that you can make a lot of money with it... the question is, why are using such an old school sales letter? How do you expect to make sales with that sales letter? |
Also assume that I am "in need of some money"..
You are leaving thousands of dollars on the table with that letter, and I'm sure that you're in need of some money... Right? |
To further complicate things, the only person with that (rather unique) name happens to be someone on various internet marketing forums asking very beginner questions about marketing.
Listen, I have a copywriting business that can really help your online business grow. If you're interested in securing a better sales letter for your product, reply to this email and I'll be happy to show you some samples of my work. Also, we're having a special right now and you can get your sales letter with a HUGE discount. There are Clickbank vendors with a product just like yours and they're making thousands of dollars each and every month. |
Affiliates will never promote a product with a sales letter like yours, because it's just not going to convert. With a powerful sales letter, affiliates will feel a lot more comfortable promoting your product, and when they do promote it, you'll make a lot more money without any extra effort on your side. I would love to hear back from you, so don't hesitate to respond to this email with any questions! |
But this particular one is definitely hitting the average 2% on cold traffic mark.. so it's not so shabby.
Furthermore, don't assume that the only sales letter I have is the one you see... I have 3 completely different sales letters at this very moment testing and tweaking to figure out which modality works best with this audience (video, text or combo)..

Anyhow, I just thought this might be a lesson for those of you out there "pounding the pavement" per se, trying to find business...
