Want to Get Rich by the End of the Week? You'll Be Broke by the End of the Month

I'm sick of seeing all of threads by desperate people who need money now in order to keep their house/feed their kids/keep the lights on. Please understand nothing I say in this thread is meant condescendingly. I'm posting this with all the empathy in the world. I have been there. I was lost when I found the Warrior's Forum. The information here is invaluable, but it didn't save me and it won't save you.

You've been lied to, nothing on this forum will make you the money you need in the time you need it. Your children are hungry, it is time for hard truths.

1- Get the hell off this forum and go get a job.

At McDonald if you have to.

Or scrubbing toilets.

But get a job.

2-Call all your creditors and explain the situation. The cable might go off, but I've never heard of a power or water company that doesn't have hardship programs. Your credit card company won't forgive your debt, but they also have a hardship program. Credit card debt is unsecured. If you flake out their only option is to write the debt off. Tell them why you can't pay. You'll probably get a reduced payment plan, avoid future penalties and have previous penalties removed. Not because they care about you, but because it makes business sense for them to have you in the habit of paying.

I owed over $7,000.00 on one credit card at one point. The minimum payments was well over $2,000.00 and I was getting late fees, penalties and a 24% interest rate. Then I gathered the nerve to call and say, "I can't pay here is why." They dropped my minimum payment to $120.00, as well as all current late fees and penalties. They also reduced my interest to 10%, for fifteen months, provided I didn't miss a payment.

3- Educate yourself. In your spare time, once your children are asleep stay up and learn a skill that you can market. Don't try to make a product, don't sign up as an affiliate, and in the name of all that is good and holy don't buy anything.

You do not have the funds, skills, or connections to pull off a product launch.

You do not have the funds, skills, or connections to market an affiliate product.

You just admitted you don't know anything of value so you won't be able to build a list. Don't waste time. Build your fundamentals.

Start in your public library with books on business, marketing, and web design. Read the Gary Halbert Letter and Scientific Advertising. Then come back to the internet and learn everything you can about keyword research. Don't buy anything. Every thing you need is out there free.

4- Do all that and here is my offer.

I'll pay for your WSO. I will help you craft your offer. I will help with the copy (I'm not great at copy, but I'm probably better than you). Then I'll pay to have it put up in the Warrior Special Offers Section. It will be under both our names, with everyone understanding you did all the work. I don't have much credibility here, but I'll put what I have behind you.

Four Conditions:
1) You must convince me you have a skill worth marketing.
2) Payments are going to my paypal and I'll pay you once you start delivering. You flake out and I can refund people, without coming out of pocket.
3) I'm keeping all the money until I get my $40.00 back.
4) We are splitting the profit 60/40. You get 60% I take 40%. Make 100 sales and I'll switch payment directly to your Paypal and you get to keep 100%.

Yes, I will make money. That's how the world works. I'm taking the risk, I make money.

Yes, you have to trust me to pay you. I have to trust you not to run off with my $40.00. Both of our reputations go on the line. I know the value of mine and won't screw you.

The profit I make will be reinvested in other struggling newcomers. I am unwilling to risk more than $40.00 on newcomers. Flake out and ruin it for everyone. Do well and you'll finance someone else who needs it.

Note to the admin: If this offer is inappropriate for the main forum just say so. I'll shell out $80.00 today, $40.00 to post this as a WSO, $40.00 to prepay the first WSO for a struggling warrior with the dedication to learn their trade.

    Will,

it's one of the best sales pitches I've read
    this year!

You got me reading every word of your copy
and for that I take my hat off to you...

Newbies, I'd take him on the offer. I mean
it's pretty much as good as it's going to get for most
    of you

    Newbies take note:

The best sales pitch he heard this year was an afterthought I came up with around point 3.

First post I've read on this forum.

Good advice. I might just take you up on it. Why not? Seems like a fair offer.

Would you mind sending me an email please Will?

      Thanks.

This should probably be in the contests and challenges section, but either way it is certainly going to attract some interest.

I would suggest you make sure that any newbie that wants to take you up on this offer is both hard working, and has a realistic plan.

It would be a shame if you just went with the first person to contact you, instead of waiting a week to ensure that the really good candidates get a chance to make their pitch.

    Cheers,

I might not have made myself clear, but this is an excellent point. Convincing me isn't going to be easy. Well actually it is. Demonstrate to me I'll get my $40.00 back. Past that it's gravy.

It would be interesting if you would keep any and all who are interested in learning how many legitimate takers you have on your offer?

Unfortunately, many of the down and out, please help me requests are like the people a local newspaper in our area investigated several years ago.

They sit on the corner with signs, will work for money, ultimately, people pull over and give them cash, some offer work but the people never show. The local reporter decided to follow one of these people only to find he had parked his SUV about 6 blocks away and then followed him home to a $200K house in the burbs.

If this ends up being moved to challenges, I'll edit the first post with a running total of pitches, pitches accepted and WSOs successfully run. If it stays here I'll leave that out.

I thought this was top quality advice until I hit point number 4. If someone has consolidated their debt and have a job why do they need $40 from the OP. The situation will be different if the OP is prepared to put in a significant amount of work himself, but it looks like all the work will be done by person who has money problems.

Perhaps being a new member is putting you off Will?

No email received this end yet.

Cannot pm you as my post count isn't high enough.

Would you please be kind enough to send an email to the above given email so we can talk.

I know this industry inside out and have been in it for years.

I'd love to hear from you Will.

Actually, giving out my e-mail is putting me off. This is going to be a problem for a lot of people wanting to take me up on this offer, and I'm considering how I want to deal with it.

I also work 50 hour weeks, have a number of people who pm'ed me before you posted, and the weekend is when I see my wife and daughter. It has only been a day. Relax.

Quick Edit: When I hit the 200 post count I'll be moving this over to Contests and Challenges. That will keep it from being totally buried in the busy main forum and it fits better there. It might take while, and I am still interested in helping before then.

I really mean it. It really is one of the few, my attention worth
    sales pitches.

It is beautifully disguised as a rant, but it slowly but
surely weaves into a straight forward business proposal.

JS&A would be proud of you, son! :-)

Hopefully they won't, and they'll have the confidence to know it.

I have my debt under control, and through the grace of God I have a job that pays me enough to put up $80.00 to prove a point and help someone out. If the best you get is a job at McDonald you won't. The overwhelming despair you feel when your unemployed, have now idea how you are going to feed your daughter, and have crushing debt is not a logical thing. Sometimes it takes someone saying "I believe enough in you to foot the bill" to get you started. If you do everything you won't need my $40.00, but maybe the knowledge that it is there will be the nudge to get them started.

If I said "I'll pay for your WSO, and don't want anything" I'd get 200 pms by tomorrow from people looking for a freebie. Whether or not they need it. got no interest in that. As your business partner I'm treating you with the dignity of an adult, not the high handed charity of a superior.

I really don't care if people ever hit point four. I felt like I this post looked like it was full of high and mighty with no solid offer to help. I'm not doing this to make money. PM for help and I'll usually give it, and I don't charge. If one person gets to two, God bless them, and this post was worth it.

I don't have a website (by which I mean for myself as a marketer or business). I'm not building a list. There is one product I might one day offer as a WSO, but it would be of no use to newbies, and I'd refund them if they tried to buy. Even so that is weeks if not months away.

But what would this theoretical newbie get for giving up a cut?

A kick in the pants to do. If you need the help I don't care if you weren't starving to begin with. I'm listening, if you've got the chops for it to be of real value to you.

My help crafting an offer (I'm good at that), me going through your copy (I'm less good). Most importantly my reputation. Yes I don't have the largest post count. But I average a thanks almost every other post. In the last two days I've had:

-A PM asking me to join another forum, because the mod feels I'd be an asset.

-A request to turn one of my posts into an article for a warrior's, with a mentoring program, students.

-A PM offering me money to help someone revise the copy on their product.

And beyond any of that anyone endorsing a service by putting their name on it is powerful. The theoretical warrior leaves the WSO with a lot of attention from having said "I'm in over my head, help me" and then really doing it. They'll have a reputation for deliverng a solid service, that will keep making them money.

I'm looking for people scared to offer their services, article writing, design whatever, to their fellow Warriors. Maybe they don't have the confidence to put up their hard earned money. Maybe they just finished teaching them self a skill and need the external validation to get going.

I want them to come out of this set up with a real, infant business that they can grow. I won't help some newbie throw up a guide to affiliate marketing. They'd get no value out of that. Neither would anyone on this forum.

That was a great response to the questions of why they would need you and why you are doing this. It's nice to see some heart felt words in a world of as seen on tv offers. It's like everyone has an informercial but less than 1 percent have really made money. I personally think that most people who have home computers could make money if they really wanted too. Most people are sitting on wealth. They could set up a free account on ebay and sell the very couch their sitting on... Somebody would buy their crap. guaranteed.

But, most people just have expensive habits. Instead of coupon cutting and frugal buying, they buy fast food, overspend at Christmas and birthdays and basically try to keep up with the jones'. It's sad, but it's the world we live in. Especially those of us here in the US. The mortgage crisis, opened up a lot of eyes. But it killed our economy in the process. I think creditors are partly to blame. When I was 19 I had a 50k credit line with Amex. I was clueless and it took me 10 years to pay off that debt. Now I have well over that in the bank and no credit cards. NOT ONE. But lets get to the point. If someone is offering a leg up to people in exchange for an idea and some hard work, we shouldn't discourage him. Let this gentleman offer his assistance and see if anyone reaches for greatness. WILL, I hope it works out and you help a lot of people. GOOD LUCK FRIEND...

Good advice and a reasonable offer. I made the mistake of offering advice in one of the many "I'm desperate, I need money now or I am ruined" threads. Soon after got a PM from desperate person telling me just HOW desperate they were, and couldn't I just help out, and then included their email. I did not report it. I hope they find this thread - if they haven't already been reported and banned.

The older I get the more skeptical I become of people (perhaps this is me becoming wise, perhaps not). No ones doed anything for free, there is no such thing as free lunch.

I remember 10 years ago, when young and niave, having got a job as a website designer I felt really good. After receiving my first paycheck I was walking along and saw a homeless guy, straight away I went to the cash point withdrew $200 and gave it to him. He refused to accept, I just handed the cash and walked away only for him to chase me to return the cash. I ran and got away. What a stupid thing to do on my part, especially I can do with the cash now!

Such behaviour I think is firmly in the minority and it is better to take the view, someone is doing something because they want something from me. I am sitting here thinking this is a great marketing ploy and it probably is. I am sorry if I have made the wrong assumption.

I am sure the OP and the potential participants can benefit especially as there must be a lot of people who do not have $40. This is especially true for teenagers or for folks from non US or European countries.

      +1 to OP.

    Interesting thread, indeed.

I got my start simply by reading books. I purchased them at places like Barnes and Nobles (however, pick up a latte or two...or even if you don't...you can still take a seat and read all the goodies you'd like and never purchase).
