Password access software

Hi everyone,

I'm building a membership site and need some advice on good password software that will allow users to create their own user names and passwords. I already have hosting for this site and I'm using DreamWeaver so I need a standalone software package. Not something that includes it's own hosting. So far the best I've found is Amember.com, so I'm just wondering if there's any other choices out there.
