How long does it take to test your niche?

Hello warriors,

I am new to internet marketing. According to one of the systems that I am following, to have a successful internet marketing I have to research the niche first, build my blog and publish relevant content. If everything works fine then I will expand and improve, otherwise I drop it and move to another niche.

The problem that I am facing is that it is taking me very long time to test the niche.

I have read many threads that say that they have ranked on page 1 within a couple of days or a week. How can this happen if Google takes many weeks to count the backlinks that are pointing to a site?

The niche with low competition (micro of micro niche) can easily be ranked #1 within no time.
I had a client of mine coming on page 1, spot 9, 1 week after domain registration and website creation. Depends on competition, global searches, keywords and phrases.
Testing time varies (wildly) upon the niche, a micro niche can take a few months, whilst a micro of a micro niche can be ranked in 1 month or even less.
    Thank You,

Do you mean that in best case scenario you need one month to test your niche?

Can you make enough money if you go into "micro of a micro niche"?

I would ideally give it 1-2 months.
Yes there is money lying unclaimed in micro of micro niches, but its not spread evenly, do some research before entering the m of m niche

For me I use ppc, within a few days to a week I can tell whether or not a niche is worth my effort, it takes too much time to build a site and get all the links only to find out that the niche is not worth it.

You can also use article marketing or leverage sites like squidoo or hubpages to see whether a niche is worth entering, its up to you.

The less competition your keyword has the faster you will rank in google on page one, in same cases with some very low comp keywords you can rank on page one without any backlinks.
