Any one using a dedicated server... how much load does it take?

Hi all,

Would love to get some information on how much load (page views/concurrent users) your dedicated server takes and how much load does it handle. And also what technology it runs on (php/WordPress/Asp.net etc.)

I need to scale up my server for performance and need some info regarding this.

Thank you,
Mich Barty

How the HELL would ANYONE know this!?!?!? Changing a version of PHP, the way in which it is used, or the software can make a BIG difference! Same with the Disk type, free space, O/S, CPU, CLOCK, memory type, memory amount, motherboard, etc....

So other people's experience may be totally WORTHLESS to you!

Steve, if people post their servers builds, I am sure mbarty can find the best one. IN fact to help Mbarty out it would be good if people could post:
    O/S
    RAM
    HDD capacity
    CPU speed
    Host provider
    bandwidth
    special features (RAID, etc)

etc etc you get the picture.

Tell your hosting provider what performance you need and why.

See, your hosting provider has a contract with you that includes nondisclosure clauses. You can tell them every single thing you want to do, and they won't race off trying to compete with you.

You shouldn't do that here, but nobody can tell you what you need without knowing what you're trying to do. So go ask someone else.
