New Wordpress Blogger-want my posts about Chinese Medicine to be seen by search engines.
What books show me EXACTLY how to do the steps? I am struggling to know how to do keywords with the correct (punctuation? or HTML or are they called tags and what punctuation should I do with tags? I have start to learn HTML from W3, am I wasting my time, do I need this to know how to do proper headings h1, etc. Thanks, Eric

    If you're just starting out, the best thing to do is to learn everything that you can. I know HTML inside and out, but only use it to modify wordpress themes, etc. I haven't used it to create an entire site in years...

    Don't get stressed out about learning HTML right away - it's something you'll want to know, but it's not going to make or break you. As far as headings, etc., etc., WordPress should be handling that for you. Most time, your post's or page's heading will be an h1. If you're uncertain, you can view the source for the pages you've published to see where the h1 is (in firefox this is ctrl+u).

    I'm kind of confused about what you're asking about punctuation. Are you asking if it's called a tag or punctuation in html? Code put in between angled brackets <> are tags, however each tag is used to define an element, so <h1>Your Heading Text</h1> is an element. Both <h1> and </h1> individually are tags, and they're used to form a heading element.

    If I'm not getting at what you were asking, apologies. If your end goal is to rank well in Google for keywords about chinese medicine, you need to know a bit about SEO. Wordpress will do most of this for you, so you don't have to think too hard about it, but you might check out seofaststart.com, there's a really good guide there for beginners. Also, you'll want to learn about keyword research. There are tons of guides on how to do this, check the WSO section, or Google it.
