Reviews on Yelp, CitySearch, etc.

I need to get some great reviews on my sites for Yelp, CitySearch, Google, etc.

Has anyone had any experience (good/bad) going to sites like Fivrr and having people post reviews?

(Basically, my real clients do not ever take the time to do this.)

Yes, Fiverr is great, but put in the extra work to write the reviews yourself. That will keep you from getting a bunch of absurdly positive reviews that sound fake.

As an additional precaution, approach people offering to do reviews on other sites (like Amazon) and ask them to write your citysearch and google reviews. Why? Because unlike people advertising citysearch reviews, these folks advertising Amazon reviews don't have a bunch of other fake reviews on citysearch. Therefore they won't get flagged as easily.

Focus on ways to encourage your real customers to leave you a review on a site like Yelp vs. deceiving prospects with fake, paid reviews.

Plus posting fake reviews violates terms of most sites like Yelp. Don't go to the dark side. Sites like Yelp have loyal members and they usually can sniff out fake reviews anyway.

It didn't take long for Warrior forum members to bust folks who were using Fiverr to post fake video testimonials on their WSO's. So it could back fire on you to boot.

Good. I was hoping that would happen.

I was probably the only person on Fiverr doing legitimate video reviews, and I was constantly getting orders for people wanting me to read scripts and pretend to do this or that, while faking a review. (even though my promo page spelled out that I only did legitimate reviews)

I cancelled each and every one of those request that I couldn't talk into doing a legitimate review.

So yes, if you see any reviews from me, you'll know that I actually reviewed the product, read the ebook, and all of that.

I wasn't doing it just for the money. For the most part I did it to practice my presentation skills and to get over my webcam phobia. It worked wonders and I was even able to use it as content on my blog.

Getting paid to do it made it worthwhile, even though my reviews were probably worth 10 to 20 times a fiverr. I always had a hard time practicing anything without a good incentive.

After earning about $200, (40+ videos plus tips) I decided that I had enough practice and no longer wanted to spend between 30 minutes and 2 hours just to make a fiverr.

I created good relationships on Fiverr with a lot of positive testimonies about my skills.

I have new clients and friends to this day that come back to me for advice and other services.
