    The takeaway from this is that, even though Arianna Huffington has poured a lot of money into Huffington Post and has a sizeable staff, this is in reality a blog - just like anyone here could build with vision, determination, and consistent work.

      But why go to the effort of creating a blog and all that work for a tiny $315M when you can just create a simple HTML web form and a graphic made in ms paint like Google did?

        I wouldn't go so far as to call it just a "simple" HTML web form - there were untold hours of programming and coding to come out with a workable algorithm for searching the web, not to mention the massive servers and computing resources needed to implement the search engine and cache the indexed results!

    Techcrunch has already visibly suffered from their acquisition. Once the passion of the founder is gone from the equasion, everyone else is simply going through the motions.

    Of course, depending upon your political persuasion, the same outcome for HuffPo might be a good thing.
