ha ha

Just ask Michael Arrington and Ariana Huffington.
AOL bought Techcrunch for $30 million
and has just bought Huffington Post for 315 Million, both blogs only 6 years old.

This is very interesting - particularly about the Huffington Post. 315 Million isn't exactly chump change, is it? ...

(We'll have to start the Suzanne-and-Lexy Post, I think: it's high time, especially since we've never actually disagreed about a single thing here that I remember!).

I'd hate to be the poor person that writes in and slags off the blog.

Alexa will make them feel like they have the intellectual capacity of a garden pea...

Then Suzanne will come in and beat them within an inch of their poor little lives.

      Nice plan though.

        Smileys, you forgot the smiles.

Either that or you're wearing a cast iron jock strap...

I thought we all wore cast Iron jock straps??

          Health and safety.

It was my typically dry and sarcastic English sense of humour, there were smilies everywhere, I just forgot to put them in, I amended it now.

Sorry Alexa, you have some competition. Suzanne and I always agree on everything. We are bff's if you didn't know.

I saw this news this morning as well...

I'll have to admit that my first thought was, "Does AOL really have 315 million to spend on this aqusition?"

Anyhow, it will be interesting to see what they do with it...and how the user base responds to the aquisition.

    Best,

One news article said that AOL will be paying the 300 Million in cash and the rest in whatever ... Nice to have that kind of cash lying around.

Arianna will still work for the blog as President and Editor in Chief.

Seems like the same thing that makes any project successful: strong content, good political connections, solid traffic building, good press coverage, etc., etc.
