Social Media Marketing is far more productive than traditional marketing

Social Media Marketing adds a sense of community and interaction that doesn't occur with traditional marketing. You can start to develop a relationship with clients and customers before they ever buy a product from you. This can be valuable to help you build a network of people who could be of value to you in the future even if they don't buy your product initially. With traditional marketing, the majority of the time, once someone sees your add they will disregard it if they are not interested in the product or service at that point in time. With social media marketing you develop a connection with the person that will ensure they remember you when the time comes that they actually need your product or services.

I second your request, Colorful Ant ! Point us to the blog, please. I'm at a point at the end of 3 months of study where I am about to build traditional niche websites, etc. If everything really IS moving over to Social Media I don't want to waste my time with Wordpress plugins, Google, etc

Seems like a waste of time to do networking and hope they will eventually buy later.
I would rather focus on marketing to people looking to buy my stuff instead of people networking within the niche.

I think the best approach is a hybrid of traditional and social.

Not been blown away by Social Marketing just yet.

...I'd still rather have top Google rankings for the buying terms in my niche.

The saying goes "People hate to be SOLD to, but love to BUY". Social media offers incredible way to build rapport and trust through personal recommendations. Without these two ingredients how can sell effectively any way.

social media marketing is another skill to learn. as mentioned in the above posts people dont really want to be sold but want to buy which is a fact for the masses.

social media really is becoming "social" thats why its called social media and not business media. just be yourself in terms of personal connections like making friends and connections. later on when your connections start to know you and trust you they will find out about you and what you do.. you dont really have to tell your new firends/ connections right away that you have something to sell or they just get turned off and realize that your trying to befriend people coz you want some moeny out of their pockets.

majority of the content of your social media profile is about your personal life like sports, family, likes, hobbies and a small part would be your business.

a good setup for your social media profile is a link to your blog where people may know more about you, if you have an interesting profile and blog they will discover about your business.

hope this helps my fellow warriors

tip: when socializing in social networks... just socialize like you do in a gathering or party... you dont just walk in a party and shout.. hey everyone my name is blah blah and im here to teach you how to make money blah blah.
