I've got an idea brewing but am falling a bit short on putting all the pieces together. Basically, I want a form to let other people create blog content, but at a cap of 100 words per post. After they enter their post, they are required to sign up to my list, where they will get an auto response thank you for contributing content. Then, the post has to be approved before it goes live. Any help on how to make this happen is appreciated. I think this *might* be a good way to build a list.

What plugins are available to make this happen? Thinking of doing this in WordPress.

Thoughts? Tips? Tricks?

    Wordpress does this by default (posts requiring registering an account, posts requiring approval).

    Yes, I think you should go for wordpress. I don't know if exists any plugin that can do that already done. Maybe you need to hire a programmer and make some sort of modification. If you have aweber or getresponse, it's very easy to add a new subscriber to your list in php (the programming language of wordpress)

      Thanks for the advice, but none of these answers quite hit on what I'm trying to create. I know how to do an auto response when someone signs up, that's no problem. I also know how to set wordpress to require approval. I'm looking for a form that I can set to cap at 100 words that site visitors can fill in with their content. After entering said contribution, they are asked to sign up for the email list.

      So, in a nutshell:
      page says, enter your 100 word blog post here, they write their content, they hit submit button and are asked to sign up for email list as a condition of their content being posted. Is this possible?

    i don't think there is any plug-in available for this, you need to customize Wordpress comment column for such kind of job. any web developer can do this easily. its just a 4 - 5 hours job.
