Looking for easy screen recording software plus audio

Ive been reading / searching WF and net and now Im totally confused. What I want to do is record everything I see and do on my screen (even if it there is video) and I want to record audio (me) as well. I want to creat short videos to be uploaded to Youtube. I want really easy to use and learn software. Dont need fancy features at this stage - just want to get started straight away. Can anyone recommend which software to use? Thanks Julie

Have you tried CamStudio. Very easy to use and free.

CamStudio is free and can do everything that you mentioned. CamTasia has more advanced features and is not free.

Thanks everyone who already replied. It seems Camstudio can do everything that I want - so here goes ... I'll give it a try. A learning curve for me - haven't done screen recording before. Regards Julie

The first step on anything is always the worst Julie. I remember the first video I narrated - it was a bit of a shambles (you can see it below) but it was another hurdle crossed.

        Go for it!

          :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Through another site and through a Google search I downloaded a CamStudio file and another with Codec.

I couldn't make it work and couldn't find any answers on how to use it.

Was a waste of time the download.

I was a member of Ultimate License program (free to join) and in their Products section I found a free download of CamStudio and Codec.

That was easy to do and instructions were easy to follow.

I did some screen shot and audio testing. It seems great.

Need to do some more learning.

I need some voice changes (I don't consider my voice "professional" for a marketing video).

I understand that this "voice" condition can be worked in a section here in the Warrior Forum, in Voice.com or with a local college communications student.

Let's see what I come up with.

          Sincerely,

          Antonios

Note: Camtasia will not work well for high detailed and high definition videos (eg, high movement like games, 1080p high def), not to mention the software has an incredible amount of bugs.

I recently spent around 40 hours with their support, and they acknowledge the long list of bugs, as well as admitting their software wasn't meant for high def high quality videos.

The simplest I've come across is the free Camstudio (just google it)

I'm not sure if it will capture a video running on your screen though.

Hold on a minute and I'll try it .................

Yes, it sure does, a running video with all it's audio - and yours on top if you wish.

Allan thanks for that ... and checking that it records the video as well. Sounds like I will start with Camstudio. I was getting so confused with all the different software and reviews. Appreciate your comment. Julie

If you are on a mac you might want to try Screencast or you can also used Jing - it's pretty good and free as well.

I'll second camtasia, it works very well and also has decent video editing capability.
