Youtube Embed Code Not Working On Wordpress??

Has anyone noticed that the embed code for Youtube doesn't work anymore on wordpress? I noticed this about a week ago when I tried embedding a code in one of my blog post. When I put the code in the html editor of my page it disappears when I go back to visual. Is anyone else having this problem?

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks,

It happens quite often that if you put "code stuff" inside the 'html' side of the [post editor, you can't switch back to visual or it goes away. Not just youtube codes.

Quickest easiest way to slove is don't switch back to visual on that post.

Next option would be to use one of the Youtube embed plugins so that you just have to enter the youtube url and it will embed.

There are other options, but those two are the easiest to explain and implement.

Check out Vipers Video Quicktags plugin, it's by far the easiest way to embed videos. It adds buttons to your editor toolbar that let you embed from all the major video hosts.

Then you just let the plugin developer worry about updates and all your video displays stay safe and sound.

I install it on every single new WP site I setup: WordPress › Viper's Video Quicktags « WordPress Plugins

I am also a user/fan of smart youtube - I highly recommend it if you are going to be embedding videos frequently.

Rather than relying on plugins, I just use the HTML editor and try to post the video embed code right when I am about to Save the post.

I Do not recommend stuffing the blog with too many plugins doing simple tasks which their own round about.

There is a video tutorial on youtube.

It's very easy to understand coz you can see it in a live preview.

Youtube just changed default embed to an iframe code, there is a checkbox to embed old style code, might explain why you had the trouble.

I use Youtuber on my blogs. So far I have no reason to complain, thank God. Here is a link the plugin site:

Has anybody else used this plugin?

Yes I've had this problem - it's been driving me crazy! Thought it was just me...

Does anyone know, is there a way to do this in Visual with the "Add Video" button?

The "Add an Image" button beside it works perfectly for adding an image to a post - but all the "Add Video" button will do for me is add a url link. I want the video itself. Sometimes Wordpress is not as straightforward as one would wish...

In the meantime, lots of useful suggestions here to check out.
