Best place to recruit affiliates

Quick details:
  • I have a product (a real product, NOT Clickbank BS) in the family/baby vertical.
  • My product is on the Share-a-Sale network, $6 per sale.
  • I currently have 114 affiliates and am looking to get that number to 500.
I would like to find more places/forums/channels to recruit more affiliates, where do you suggest?

I would concentrate NOT on the number of affiliates but the quality of those affiliates. One quality affiliate can easily do the same work of 100 others. Remember the 80/20 rule? 20% of your affiliates will be responsible for 80% of your sales. Those are the affiliates you want to concentrate on. It will take a little longer to sift out those super affiliates in your niche but it will be well worth the effort.

I'd much rather have a couple of big players promoting my product than hundreds of affiliates who might sell one product every once in a blue moon. These are usually the ones who ask a lot of questions and can quickly become a nuisance.

There are a number of things you can do. For example, I would look for marketers who have newsletters or mailing lists in your niche. You would have to approach them in the right way but this can be one potential source of quality affiliates.

I would also look at what Google Adwords are displayed for different keywords in your niche. You can potentially find affiliates who are already spending money to promote similar products as yours.

You can find quality affiliates from your competition.

Ideally, those one that are selling to the same market
as you, yet has 0 conflict.

For example: In Internet Marketing, you can people
providing graphic design service, and copywriting service.

They are selling to the same market, yet they complement
each other, and can refer customers to eact other
    with 0 competition conflict.
