Mobile Advertising...Does ANYONE Care?

With a forum exploding with online advertisers, I find it very strange that people are not discussing mobile advertising at length.

Since mobile advertising is definitely the next big platform for online marketers why are people not starting to exploit the massive supply and low demand that currently exists in the mobile advertising world.

What's your opinion? Mobile advertising yes or no?

    Yes for some offline businesses.

    No for most online businesses.

You don't think mobile advertising is effective for online businesses?! Why do you think that?

Because mobile marketing is usually annoying and I like most people would prefer email to receive notifications about online businesses.

When I'm online its a lot more convenient to check emails on a big screen and I can visit the site immediately. If I got the same message on my little phone I wouldn't bother.

I'm sure in some cases it can work well but it definitely is better suited to offline businesses like restaurants, night clubs, etc.

Although theres sense in this I think that we all find pretty much all advertising annoying in a way, doesn't matter where it is or how it's put forwards its annoying because people make you feel as though you need their product and you need to part with your cash.....mobile advertising is surely effective to an extent just like any other form of advertising....

It's not the "next big" thing, LOL! It's actually been around since 2002 at least and getting more publicity and acceptance. I've been doing mobile marketing nationwide for nearly six years. It is becoming a very hot market in nearly every online/offline niche now however, and there are in fact quite a few threads floating around right here in the forum.

Well it sort of is...I know it's been around for years, more than since 2002, people were marketing through SMS long before that. However, it's become a hot topic in recent years and has only just started to gain leverage and traction due to smartphones and tablets becoming part of the mainstream commercial market.

The way I see mobile advertising going, is like every other type of advertising really...more localised, geo-targeted and taking advantage of things such as push notifications to enhance interactivity.

With More Smart Phones than computers online, Mobile Advertising is easily becoming the next billboard and direct marketing trend.

On my Apps there are ads.

I sign up to receive notifications of offers and reminders

It is convenient as the consumer to take a quick second to learn what about something I am interested in.

I'm on a quest to find the best sms service to offer to prospective clients. Subscribing to providers, it makes it easier to get this information.
