I think it depends on whether the PLR you intend to sell (I'm presuming you're selling and not giving it away) is new & original and how you're going to go about promoting it.

The niche is competitive, but that is a good thing.

You can make money with a store, but the important thing is to find a way to add to the stuff out there. Make your stuff stand out and you will be fine.

I should note that things can be slow to take off, but get steady as you get things running as long as you keep adding to it.

Your success, as with anything, depends upon how you position yourself and the quality of your product.

Think outside the proverbial box and you will be successful. PLR is very competitive, but hey, what isn't?

Write good quality content. One of the best ways to test PLR would be to run a WSO before you build a store.

Here are a few topics to write your PLR content on.

1. Clickbank product reviews
2. Relationships- Dating, Get My Ex back, Save Marriage etc
3. Health- Weight loss, Build muscle etc
4. Make Money Online

You can also take a look at other PLR stores to see what they are selling for ideas.

Though personally I think high quality PLR is very useful because you can easily slot it into a list and make an "e-course" which people seem to love.

There are very few good PLR ebooks. Most of them are total crap. If you can write quality stuff then you will be onto a winner.

Hi,

1. Research well. Check out how top PLR stores work n what they offer.

2. Subscribe to newsletters to know exactly what's hot n what's not.

3. DO NOT COMPROMISE ON THE QUALITY OF YOUR PRODUCT!

4. Your first impression should ROCK - put your best efforts into the product and promote the heck out of it!

5. As another warrior suggested, a WSO would be a good way to test the waters before diving right in.

6. There are even courses offered by some PLR veterans - you might want to take one of them up for some solid info and training.

Make a plan of what all you want to sell - articles, ebooks, videos, blogs - everything is PLR today!

  There are some serious considerations you should undertake before proceeding. Having a PLR site sounds easy, but unless you plan on hiring people to write it for you, it's a lot of work.
  
  Of course, it depends how big you want to build your site. Sometimes, quality is more important than quantity. Well, probably most of the time.
  
  Take into account all that is involved. How much will you have to pay for material? At what price can you realistically sell it? What will make your site unique above all the others - in case you haven't seen it yet, there is a thread here listing PLR sites. At last count I think it was around 150, and that's just in the one list.
  
  You have to find a way to stand out from the crowd, otherwise you'll have to rely mostly on your marketing skills and word of mouth.
  
  As someone already stated, much of the PLR that's out there now is junk. I've seen some of them myself. Poorly written, short, and not very original.
  
  Look at what others are offering and see how you can better them. What are they doing or not doing that you can make better?

I think that the PLR niche is very competitive, but there is always room for more. Try and make your site stick out from the rest. There are a lot of PLR sites that offer the same stuff.

I do to have a PLR site that is about 11 months old and there is plenty of room for you and room for improvement.

Well, the PLR products won't be created by me. I will simply buy from another PLR site and re-sell to my site. Perhaps I'll offer cheaper price or one time fee and they can download the whole products. But it seems people already had impression that PLR products are junk and less likely to make huge sales.

Here is the problem with your strategy. I can buy any plr that you buy to resell for under a buck each already.

The problem with some plr is that exact strategy. If you dont license your product right this will happen. I would prefer to compete on quality rather than price.

I don't know if that's really a good strategy, I mean if you can buy it than so can anyone else so you aren't adding any unique value to the product.

The PLR sites that seem to do the best are the ones that are creating their own PLR (therefore people cannot get it anywhere else) and selling limited editions.

Here's the thing with PLR that I have learned though, you have to have a lot of it out there before you are making decent money, at least that's how it worked for me.

And, like Sylvia said, you need to make sure you have the appropriate rights to resell them - most of the better stuff that I have seen does not offer those rights in order to protect the product because once they do, you can find it all over the internet for $1 or free.

You have to keep in mind that if you are buying PLR from another PLR site:
1. that you have the right to resell them as PLR (ie: with PLR rights)
2. that it's highly likely the site you're buying from is already reselling it
3. the market could already be overrun with that PLR, with thousands selling it or even giving it away.
4. it has to be really good to resell, which much of it is not.
5. what you offer will reflect on your reputation. If someone gets junk, word will spread.

I have plans to create a PLR store eventually also. My plan is to find reliable quality writers to outsource unique article writing to and then sell them in PLR packs or create PLR ebooks from them. There is a high demand for quality PLR ebooks with fresh content!

I don’t think that it’s a good idea to open a PLR site right now because new changes in Google’s search algorithms are evaluating a website’s ranking based on its content. This is why the ranking of many websites that use spun or PLR articles is significantly dropping (around 40-60%). Thus, most business owners will prefer purchasing original articles written by ghostwriters than using PLR ones. This means that you’ll have more difficulty on selling packages with PLR articles. Perhaps this change will also affect the sale of PLR ebooks.

Since you didn’t start anything yet, do something else. Don’t simply follow your ideas without knowing what is going on online. You may find products that you’ll easily sell, without facing many of the problems that are awaiting for you in this field.
