Anybody about to help out a complete novice?

Hi all,

New to the forum but I hear good things about it on the whole and I'm not sure there's a better place to go asking for advice on this subject.

Right, enough flattery!

I'm just hoping for a bit of advice on how to market my service really.

I have a trading service whereby members pay a subscription fee to me every month (it's tiny) and then I provide them with the information that I use to make my decisions during the course of a trading day.

They have unlimited access to me via email and I often perform live trading sessions to demonstrate the various strategies I use to members and offer help with their own positions.

I also offer a wide range of manuals on various different trading mediums via a few different outlets.

The advice I need is how do I market this and take it to the next level?

I currently only use Ebay, my blog site and word of mouth referral.

Internet marketing is really not my thing but I can see the market is there for the growth of my service but I'm not sure how to market it correctly.

any advice appreciated and considered.

    blogging is the way ro go: there are 100's of plugins for wordpress that auto mate getting traffic; use keyword research,seo, facebook page,groups,youtube,twitter,links
    etc.

    could talk all day on each of these; I guess you need a basic blog traffic getting guide;
    right?

      Yes I suppose i do.

      The ebay sales page sells for itself really.
      The blog one, it's hard to say because a lot just click "next blog" and hit you that way.

      The problem I'm having is getting targeted traffic to the right place.

      I don't want to spam the forums or anything like that to drum up interest but I really want to push on with this as soon as I can.

    I would master Article Marketing and Video Marketing aimed at your industry and keywords. Maybe 100 of each. Sounds like a lot but it can be done in several months. Also, build a large Social Media following on Facebook and Twitter, branding yourself as a leader in your field.

      I'll definitely look at that.

      I could definitely write plenty of articles but the video side of things is a little more difficult as that's what the service is for.

      It'd be unwise to give them away for free.

      The articles can be done though.

      I think long - term it will have to be the affiliate route but I'm not sure if that's such a good idea these days?

      Anybody have any experience of selling their own ideas via affiliate?

      It's taken me that long to build a good solid rep that I don't want the next stage of development ruined by something I'm not 100% in control of.

      I agree with James, but one thing you could do to speed up the article writing process is use Dragon Naturally Speaking, or some other such program.

      If you have the content in your head, this will allow you to get it out ten times faster.

      100 articles could be done in ten days, if you wanted it bad enough.

        Thankyou to everyone so far and I'll definitely look at your suggestions.

        The only problem i see with the dictation software is my accent.
        Anybody else tried it?

    The trading niche can be a tough one to crack, but many of the top people in the trading niche are also the top people in the betfair niche. If you look around and make good connections there you can leverage that to do better in the trading niche.

    That's a launch focused niche. Best thing to do is meet the top JV's, but it's a hard group to crack.

    A blog can generate targeted traffic if you aim for the right keywords. Plus, the posts on the blog will determine your level of authority on the niche you serve. The blog is the platform, what you are after is targeted traffic and branding.
