Hey guys

I can't figure out something and was hoping you could help me.

If I have a Like button on my website and a visitor clicks on it, will my link appear on his friends news feed? I just don't understand what exactly happens, sometimes they appear, sometimes they don't.

P.S. Maybe I should ask Allen since I see WF is getting all this love from Facebook now

  • Howdy,

You're absolutely correct. If someone likes your fan page on Facebook, the "liker" will have such appear on their profile for their friends to see. It will basically say so and so has liked X page.

I hope this helps and may the marketing force be with you.

If someone "likes" your site, your link will appear on their profile and your posts will appear on their feed. Their friends will see that they 'liked' you (once) in their feeds.

In other words it is a really good thing And I believe the next facebook thing will be a new kind of opt-in where you give away stuff on your site to become a member of your group or just for the lile. Or it is perhaps not a new thing but it will explode this year.

This kind of viral marketing can be massive if done correctly. The niche is very important because it shouldn't be very specific, it should target as many people as possible.

If I like "how to clean the carburetors of a suzuki gs500 motorcycle" I don't think any of my friends would click. With something like "revolutionary way of losing 5 pounds in 1 week" then it's a different story.

I just can't seem to get a darn like button to post on the newsfeed, just on my wall. Oh well I guess it's time to unleash the geek within.

Facebook is currently the most universal social networking Web site with more than 500 million users internationally. With an enormous base, it is logical that the conversion rate at the site could be much higher. Therefore, you could use Facebook to make cash online. The system used by Facebook advertising is both cost-per-impression or cost per click. First, choose an appropriate category for promotion. Facebook does not allow the promotion of products such as software downloads, ring tones, and cocktail. Check out the regulations of advertising to learn about the goods and services that you could publicize for the purpose of selling or causing one to want through Social Ads.

Thanks but I'm struggling to see how that would answer my question about adding a Like button and posting on newsfeed

Yes it will appear on the persons news feed. Also if you have a fanpage its sometimes a good idea to make the link on your website link to your fanpage .. this way all your likes are consolidated .. you can then have tabs on your fanpage where people can opt in etc. Also on a fanpage you can make posts that your followers can like again thus giving you a second chance to be in there news feed.

Of course doing this will depend on how you plan you marketing funnel.
