A local photographer did a deal where she made a post and the offer was for a free $696 photo-package and the winner was the one who go the most comments below their name, I don't know exactly how it worked, but I assumed that the photographer friended everyone, and there ended up being 1,000's of people commenting below all participants.

I know this lady built at least 6 figures in year 1 from facebook alone.

  • Excellent list!

I suggest adding press releases as they have worked very well for our clients. Targeted, industry-related press releases submitted to the proper sources can work wonders.

Buying fans from Fivver will not do anything except make your account look like you have lots of fans. Get good content and provide a decent contest to build a viral momentum.

I used a couple of highrated sellers on Fiverr for a new blog and it has done very little. Though it's only been 5 or so days. I think I hired about 3 or 4. One promising 200, one 150, one promoting to 19,000 friends and I think another. Very disappointing.

I used Fiverr to get 'likes' at my fan page and yes I got a result of sorts, but these are people who have no interest in my niche, who never post nor interact at the site so it's a false economy really.

If it's just a case of throwing numbers at it then Fiverr is great, but if you want an interactive fan page where you do less work because everyone is posting on there, then Fiverr is not the answer.

I also use Fiverr there are lots of people offering gigs to suggest your page to their friends. I have got hundreds of likes using this method.

Facebook has recently added a like - link to your fan page right on any videos you upload to the page. So if you upload a video to your fan page, it will have a "like" link to your fanpage - not just to the video. - And if you upload a funny video, or a video that goes viral, it could have a huge effect on your fan count.

Actually it depends on what it is that you are trying to achieve....

If you are looking at fans who are interested in you/your product/your service - then that is slow burn and take a lot of effort...no short cuts to that

If you are looking to create 'social proof' - say you have a website where you are selling a 'hot' product or service and a potential visitor checks out your FB fanpage only to find that you have SCENARIO 1 - 26 fans and SCENARIO 2 - 11,801 fans .... the latter looks far more 'credible' and should help you in a sale....even if they are unengaged fans....

so it really depends....i guess that latter strategy is only good initially ...

    Hi Victoria

You could make a video about your fan page and submit it to as many video sharing sites as possible, plus to all the social networks.. I often make videos about money making tips but I also make videos about the process of something, i.e creating a killer squeeze page...

So why not about your fan page?

Are you offering anything on the fan page if they hit the like button?

Usually giving away something of real value for a like helps a lot.

I endorse every point made here - thank you for taking the trouble to prepare this list.
    I would like to add:
    * engaging content on a regular basis.
    * offering to answer member's questions as an experti in your niche.
    * ALWAYS give feedback in a friendly manner; if you have any criticism than take care to make it CONSTRUCTIVE criticism.

There are lots of ways to get traffic to your site but whether its traffic that will engage is another thing. Fiverr will definitely increase your fans- but whether they do anything else is the question.

As Keith suggested above - providing content is what really gets people to like your page. And having them interact then allows their friends to see your content.

Providing links for the Warrior Forum to your FB Page and also linking up Wordpress, Facebook and Twitter gives your content the best possible exposure.

Go to a site like Alltop.com, go to the search bar and type in your niche. You will be presented with hundreds or current blog posts in your niche. Pick the best content daily and share this in your page. Then contact the owners of other Facebook pages in your niche and ask them if you can "tag" them in this useful content (no one really refuses)..

Do this daily, by "tagging" other pages, your page will start to be seen a lot on other people's pages and you will get more "likes" on your own, as people will feel that joining your page will be an asset to them.

You have to add value before you can expect to "take"...

OK, the above ways are really great methods to get facebook fans. But I think there are several easiest ways to get lots of target fb fans too.
1, put facebook page link into your email signature box.
2,put fb page link into forums profile and article directories profile.
3,i know someone use facebook fans exchange program to increase fb counts quickly.

I wouldn't recommend buying "fans" if you really want your brand, company, or whatever to have real fans. Since you mentioned something about adding a Facebook icon in your blog, let's go to the blogging side of things that could help you gain fans. Hold a contest! Give rewards to the people who participate in your blog. If they see that you have an active Facebook page on your blog, there's a big chance that they'll click the like button.

Facebook is a social network, not a selling network. You wouldn't walk up to a stranger, generally speaking, and try to sell them something.
Apply the strategies, tactics and habits you use in your personal life to Facebook.
First, rotate your new content to include things you are interested in, causes you believe in, news items, etc. and occasionally talk about your specialty.
Then, you can cycle surveys and contests to show that your content is interesting, even though it may have no obvious connection to what you are selling.
For example, a nail salon could run a contest with a picture of a celebrity's feet and have their likes guess whose feet they are with the winner getting a prize that most would want, like a free deluxe mani-pedi.
Buying Likes is a waste as they are generally cloned likes.

I'd forget Fiverr, tried this once and only got 2 or 3 likes. Better off spending your $5 on Facebook Ads. I'm doing this at the moment, about 10c per like or 50 for $5, and they're people that are actually interested in the page. Then employ some viral tactics to get those people to share with their friends.

    Hi Victoria,

Hire somebody on fiverr to put likes initially. You can have up to 1000 for $5. But the purpose of doing this is mainly to create a good impression to anyone who will stumble upon your page.

    Here are really GOOD WAYS!

1.) Create relationships on Facebook with people in the same niche as you

2.) Don't beg for people to like your page

If you have many friends on your main account on Facebook you can do these:

3.) Post a very interesting picture on your facebook page and tag your main account in that picture.

4.) post a video or any link on your facebook page and then share it to other people using your main facebook account.

5.) Create A Facebook Contest on your facebook Page! Encourage people to create a video, a drawing or whatever and have them put them on your facebook page as a submission area. Just make sure your prizes are really awesome but not costly.

    Just my thoughts,

    Nick
