Marketing Strategy for Any Product

Disclaimer: I focus 99% of my efforts on community building, attracting affiliates and basically marketing from a vendor's perspective, so this is not something I'm necessarily good at or used to.

Step #1: Find a product - What I did was go on clickbank.com and look up lower back pain products in the marketplace. After finding a low gravity product which looked like it had a decent sales page, I moved to step #2.

Step #2: Google Keyword Tool - I searched for "back pain" and found 100 results. Sorting through them I saw that "sharp lower back pain" gets 8,000+ hits per month and has almost no competition. Considering the fact that some of the high competition markets were seeing around 22,000 searches per month, this was a pretty good middle of the road keyword phrase.

Step #3: Scout Competition - I took a look at my competition by googling "Stop lower back pain" "Fix lower back pain" "Help lower back pain" and settled on "Stop lower back pain" as being the least competitive market.

Step #4: Blog Creation - I used a blogger blog and created mine for free, leaving the blogspot at the end. I made my full keyword phrase my blog name. I then deleted everything on the blog, created a post based on content from the product's free ebook they give away on their site, and then added images for the product with affiliate links scattered throughout. I kept the site very clean with only three images, the blog title and a single post. Added meta and title tags as well containing only the keyword phrase within them.

Step #5: Ezine Articles - Paraphrasing my post on the blog, I created a ezinearticles.com article and sent it for review.

In a day or two I should have the ezine article sending traffic to my site and we'll have to see if I was successful. For now though I will not look at it for a week and focus on my other projects. Was a fun little experiment, I will save this thread and submit my results next week.

This strategy should work for any product on CB.

Also, merely making commissions is never
    a good long term plan.

You must have an opt-in form to capture
leads, whether you are a merchant or an
    affiliate.

I found a great product on Clickbank and started marketing it. But then I discovered that they don't pay via paypal. Paypal is the only viable way for me to receive payments and therefore I cancelled my Clickbank account.

I've been working with Amazon instead.
