      I'm trying to sell my writing skills and also my items from my online store. I have a friend in Jerusalem who has her own T-shirt production line (trademarked) and I want to talk to her about making some T-shirts with Charly-Bird's logo on it. If things work out then I'll add an Ecwid Store plugin with Charly-Bird T-shirts for sale.

    Very cute - what are your long term plans with the blog - are you going to monetize it at all or is it just a personal blog. I see you have your Ebay listings on there, just wondering if you planned on adding any other monetization.

      I'm determined to keep my site ad-free. My alternatives for monetizing are:
      * my webstore, eBay and Etsy.
      * my writing skills; here is my first "gig":
      Advertise with Charly-Bird | Charly Bird
      * I'll also check out options for "Charly-Bird" T-shirts.

      I'll take it step-by-step and see how things go, with God's help :p

        The blog is nice but there still should be some call to action. Its not clear if it is a personal blog or for business. Maybe a graphic on the banner or sidebar that will lead people to your service.

        I'm wondering if there is an affiliate market in Hebrew for Amazon or clickbank products. I wonder if anyone tapped that one yet? I see you have a hebrew wordpress blog! I didn't know it was possible. I know Israeli guys wrote php and they have functions for Right to left text.

          Wordpress has full support for Hebrew - in fact it's the best blogging platforms for Hebrew I know.

          Thanks for the advice. My plan is to target fellow parrot lovers (I have a large group of FaceBook and Twitter friends who are parrot lovers). I want to add a page with wikipedia type of information on Cacadus (aka Cockatoos) - when I get round to it. And I want to start doing featured posts on vets, parrot breaders etc. in return for payment - this is both interesting content for parrot lovers and a way for me to monetize the blog.

          I'm wondering if there is an affiliate market in Hebrew for Amazon or clickbank products. I wonder if anyone tapped that one yet?.
          That's a good question - never thought of it myself. Clickbank is absolutely out of the question for Israelis because they don't have a payment option for paypal and the fees for wire transfers and checks from the U.S. to any Israeli bank are so high that it just doesn't pay. If they change their policy on this then they'll gain a large number of Israeli affiliates.

    I like Charly, he's adorable.
    The blog looks great too. The only thing I would change (visually) would be the banner. Its okay but it doesn't mesh well with the rest of the theme. You are off to a good start.

      What color background would you suggest? I tried to fit the color to the colors in the logo - specifically the exotic flower which looks like a traditional Native American Crown of Feathers. You can see in my video how Charly raises his own Crown of Feathers just like a Native American Chief :p
