Confusion and Headaches

Hi all. I'm a new member here at the Warrior Forum. I've just started looking into article marketing (Don't even remember what got me started reading about it). I'm finding so much information that it's overwhelming. I don't know what information is good, and what is bad. Did anyone else have that problem when you first started out?

Yes that's true, you must filter a lot of information.

But the thing is, the article marketing is pretty much dead thing. You can use articles only as a source of backlinks, they aren't good for anything else anymore.
So, don't be confused with information, just spread your articles around and enjoy.

    Hello and Welcome Drake!

Don't become overwhelmed, there is a whole lot to learn. I wouldn't know where to begin to describe the confusion I felt a couple of years ago....but take your time.

For the most part, article marketing is still one of THE best ways to drive traffic to your site/blog/product/service. There are different ways to improve your articles such as keyword rich unique content, submitting to the more popular directories and having a Call to Action in your resource box.

If you take alook around here about article marketing, the info should be very credible, b/c marketers share tips and sort through the rubbish.

Just hang in there and hang out here for the good stuff.....in the meantime, start writing and remember to take action, and not get into an information overload situation.

    Take Care!
    Terri

UPDATE: Well there's a good example of mixed messages, Mike says its dead and I say its effective, lol, but thos backlinks are important too!

Thanks. I think I understand the basics of driving traffic via keywords in the article. I understand how to write articles (love writing) and I understand about putting a backlink in the resource/bio box. I've posted a few articles at both ezinearticles and goarticles so far. I think the biggest thing I'm having trouble understanding is finding a niche and good keywords for it.

Also, I read about using clickbank products to promote. However, it seems that everyone is promoting the same products, which seems like it would make promoting those products almost not worth it. Correct?

@Terri: Don't get into an information overload situation? Too late . But I'm still plugging away trying to sort through it all.

Drake, if you're new to IM in general, my first suggestion is to stay away from promoting IM products on Clickbank. The competition is intense in this niche, and I feel you'd have far better results promoting something in one of the evergreen niches such as health, fitness, self-help, etc.

Market Samurai is a pretty decent tool for unearthing low-competition keywords with decent potential, so getting this might help cut down on a lot of your confusion and uncertainty.

Everyone is promoting the high gravity clickbank products, take a look at lower gravity products you might be able to find some winners.

    Hi Drake,
I think all of us have gone through the overwhelm phase and there's enough conflicting info here to drive anyone crazy.

I suggest you find a few Warriors who resonate with you and have been around awhile and read their posts. I can recommend TimG and Alexa Smith in regards to article writing. Otherwise, filter as best you can and keep taking action. That is the only way you'll find what works best for you.
