Embed Youtube videos without the link being active?

INTERNET MARKETING

I had some feedback from my review sites recently and one of the things people were saying was how the videos link back to youtube, which obviously isn't good for me...

However, I've decided that the videos add a lot of value to the reviews so would like to keep them. Is there any way you can embed a youtube video to your wordpress site without the link to youtube being active?

So you want to get Youtube to pay the hosting costs for the video but not have a link to their site?

I have looked into some workarounds for this but they all break Youtube's TOS.

Why not get traffic from Youtube using your review video but, on your actual site, self-host the video on your own server.

Win-Win.

It's expressly forbidden in the YouTube TOS to disable links back to their site.

If you're going to use their server to host your video, you should probably comply with their terms.

Are you talking about when the video ends and the "addtional related" youtube videos show up? You can deactivate that function when you do the embed. Just make sure "include related videos" is unchecked and after the video is played on your site and the only thing that will show at the end of the video is a black screen with the "replay" option.

I haven't had any "link" issues going back to youtube like you have on my youtube embeds, though.

You could pay a small fee (monthly) for a private option on another video hosting site called Vzaar (dot) com that is totally unlabeled in any way and allows full attention to your video without going to other sites. I used this one mostly for my video embeds.

You might also want to try another free video hosting site called viddler (dot) com that does the exact same thing that youtube does and less "spammy" than youtube.

Thanks for the tip on Vzaar.

One caveat about viddler- first, they don't like commercial content unless you pay for a business account. But if you do use the free hosting they may put ADS on your embedded video! It's worth it with them to pay for their commercial hosting service which has no ads or distracting links.

As far as I know, you can't disable the link back to YouTube, that's the cost of them hosting the video for you and letting you embed in your blog.

You can try to find related videos on Vimeo.com which allow embedding but does not send visitors to the original host page on Vimeo.

There is a way to get Youtube videos, uploading them to your computer and hosting them on your own website but it's not very ethical to do that.

I think there are a couple of Wordpress video players that can play Youtube videos.

I also can't read TOS about this, as the words mostly show up in Chinese! Anyone care to cite the TOS terms for this IN ENGLISH!!!!!?

  Regarding Viddler, I've been lucky in that I edit my videos at the end with my "watermark."
  What I do is add my URL or phone number in white text as the video "blacks out" at the end. I really don't care if the logo of Viddler or Youtube is on the frame of the video player because of this. Seems to work well and not have been denied from each site

Remove Video Title & Ratings:

Simply add '&showinfo=0' to the end of your embed url to remove the Youtube video title and ratings that show up when you hover over an embedded video.

Hide the Search Box that appears when you hover over an Embedded Video:

Simply add ‘&showsearch=0′ to the embed url.

Embed only Part of a Video:

To skip the first 30 seconds of the video you would add ‘&start=30′ to the embed url. Just adjust the value depending on where you want the video to start.

Autoplay an Embedded Video:

Simply add ‘&autoplay=1' to the embed url for the video to autoplay without a user having to click it.

Loop an Embedded Video:

Add ‘&loop=1′ to the embed url and the video will automatically replay itself without any clicking from the user.

Disable Related Videos:

To disable the related videos that show at the end of an embedded video, simply add ‘&rel=0' to the embed url.
