Why Has My Post Been Removed?

Forgive me for posting this but I am getting sick and tiered of my posts being removed without any warning or anything.

I am a paying member on these forums, never disrespect members, always try to help out and you remove my posts without warning? I've been here a while, I would like some reasons to why you are removing my posts.

I would contact a moderator, but I have no idea who removed it or who to message.

My last posted a message asking about a cookie stuffing script. You seem to allow the topic to be discussed because you have other posts on the subject:

http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...ookie+stuffing

http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...-stuffing.html

http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...cceptable.html

http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...ly-unique.html

http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...rt-method.html

http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...ue-method.html

If you're the moderator removing this post please PM me. I don't know how to contact moderators or who to contact. This is not a rant at the forum, this is a cry for help to ask why my posts get removed but others dont.

Thank you.

I don't know whether or not the Mods will tell you why your posts are being removed but if you feel it worthwhile you could try using the helpdesk button on the top toolbar.

Actually this also frowned on. There was another post where Paul said not to use the help desk to whine... sorry, ask... why a post was removed since Thomas is pretty busy dealing with real support issues. He won't know nor will he track down the offending thread.

Best thing to do is move on.

Alan, FYI, Paul also repeated it in a post above "post #21".

However, I do understand your frustration and commend you for approaching it in a civilized manner.
I understand that but there are several posts on the subject that have not been removed. I did do a search before I posted to see if it's being discussed actively.

You are a paying member of the War Room, not of the general forum. That does not entitle you to make any post you want - here or in the War Room.

"Black Hat" topics are often removed. The fact you link to posts made 2 or 3 years ago does not mean such topics are evaluated the same today or in the future.

Update: You can stop editing your post to include links to old threads. Now you are intentionally abusing the forum.

You are not a paid member of this forum. Your War Room membership gives you access to the War Room. It does not give you anything else other than some extra pm's and the right to post a WSO.

Posting on this forum is a privilege ... not a right and the mods delete posts that go against the TOS, whether written or unwritten. They make the judgement calls here .... not the members, and they don't provide explanations to all of those who get posts deleted. My guess is that you are self promoting a cookie stuffing script and self promotion is not allowed in the discussion area, but not having seen your posts, I don't know for certain. But it is irrelevant. Mods will delete what they want to delete and it is wise not to repost it or to post threads like this one.

I have said this before and I will repeat it here: Do not assume anything at all from the presence of the word Banned beneath someone's username. There are many reasons someone could be banned, and most of them have nothing to do with ethics or the legitimacy of the business of the person involved.

At least two people who've posted in this very thread have made that mistake in the past and found out the person to whom they were referring was banned because they asked to be for a while. To remove the temptation to spend too much time here.

I've had lots of posts deleted, it's not really an issue, it doesn't matter and often it may not have been anything you did.

As has been mentioned it's not considered good practise to ask why it's been removed especially when there was an extensive thread, I believe written by Paul, saying exactly why there's no point asking. Alexa Smith lost around 300 "thanks" when a member was erased the other night, did she complain? No. In fact she didn't bat an eyelid.

....and you're complaining about losing some posts on a practise best discussed at another forum.

The half hour the OP's spent here, could have been used researching what he wanted to find out and no doubt he'd have his answer by now, or at least be a lot closer to it.

EDIT. When I'd posted I saw you'd come back, sorry if that came across harsh, I wouldn't have posted if I'd seen this...
Ha ha. I guess putting it like that that's exactly what I've done.

I've had a long day. Stressed. Forgive me WF. This really is a great forum. And to those that posted, your probably right.

          Sorry WF.

Guys, this is not a debate. This is simply questioning:

Why are you allowing others to discuss clickjacking, and sell scripts on the forum, but my post which was asking what type of scripts are available got removed.

It's a little unfair especially when I've spent hours searching to no avail. There are people on this forum that could help, but my post isn't get exposure. I feel a bit cheated that others can discuss it but I can't.

      Boo-hoo, wha-wha, whine whine.

      As Larry Winget would say...

Shut Up, Stop Whinning and Get a Life.

Your threads were nuked because the mods and some
members decided they were not appropriate.

The mods do great work here and have better things
to do than explain things to you.

If you post on a topic and your thread gets deleted
multiple times - then... take it as a clue.

A clue to what? That you need special privileges to discuss topics others seem to be able to discuss?

I'm not sure why people are turning this against me. This is a great forum and I'm not ranting about the forum. It was simply a question to the mod who removed it.

        Sorry if it's offended others.

          James,

Did you look at the dates on those threads? The only recent one was quickly turned into an anti-cookie-stuffing thread. Very likely before any of the mods saw it.

          A few things:

          1. The post was in the wrong section.

          2. Starting a thread asking why another thread was deleted is frowned on here, very seriously. You've been a member long enough to have known that.

          3. Ask some other cookie stuffers why this forum might look askance at the practice. Or just think about it.

          4. The fact that a thing is discussed here does not mean we approve of the discussion. It may well mean the mods haven't seen it. Or that one moderator saw it but didn't understand the nature of the topic. I can guarantee you that none of us are experts on everything, especially the black hat stuff.

There were other points, but they've been pretty well addressed by other folks already.

There are no special privileges. Several of those links you gave are paid ads ... not discussions in the main forum. If cookie stuffing ads are allowed, they are allowed. Mods delete posts that they feel are inappropriate for the discussion threads and it's not open to debate with them. That's one of the reasons that they don't contact every one that is deleted ... it would just lead to open debate and burn up even more time that they don't have to spare.

When you have a post deleted, don't repost it or a similar post and don't post threads like this ... "why did my post get deleted"

Everyone at one time or another has had posts deleted. Most will take that as a hint and won't do it again.

No big deal. Like I said ... even mods are involved in threads that get deleted and get their posts deleted at times. It happens and you just move on and sooner or later you get a feel for what you can post and what you can't post.

On a positive note, I never knew some folks DO ASK to get banned so they can stay off they forum for some time.
Yep. And some do it to remove the temptation to respond to crazy drama. It's more common than you'd probably think.

James, read kindsvater's response above. Topics that were allowed a few years ago may not be allowed now, and some of the old posts have not been cleaned out.

For the record, as Suzanne posted, this is not your forum so posting here is a privilege. Even though you paid for War Room membership, that still means you have to abide by the rules. If your threads are being deleted, there must be a valid reason.

Ranting about it publicly could quite possibly get you banned, or the thread removed again at the very least, so just ask at the helpdesk what the problem is and you'll get a response.

just ask at the helpdesk what the problem is and you'll get a response.
Please do not suggest that. I was the one who deleted the post. No-one who'd be handling help desk tickets would have an answer for the question. It just wastes Thomas' time for no useful purpose.

Guys and guys, I am not ranting. I was hoping the moderator would remove the post swiftly and possibly provide an answer so I am made aware or maybe it was his mistake. Either way I was just seeking a response.

    Sorry, forgive my apologies.

I just wanted to get a dollar for every thread asking "Why my posts got deleted!!!".

On a positive note, I never knew some folks DO ASK to get banned so they can stay off they forum for some time.

Well it sounds like this one is resolved -

But I did find it curious that you asked "why" it was removed, and then provided a defense to your actions as if you already knew that the "cookie stuffing" discussion was the reason. Why so many links to cookie stuffing posts, if you didn't already know why?

I'll be honest. I know on a lot of forums I use it's a thin line. Some don't allow it, some do. I am aware that cookie stuffing is not in everyone's tastes.

I've spent all day looking for resources to no avail. So I done a search to see if this forum allows it and seen some posts. yes, I failed to check posts dates and what not.

But yeah, I shouldn't have posted this. I will learn for this in future

Yep. And a nice lesson from it.

A lot of people start threads like this. When they're answered, rather than deleted, most of them escalate from a slightly annoyed posture to actively hostile. Not because anyone was unpleasant, but simply because someone said "No" to them publicly.

James became annoyed, posted, and then actively listened to what was being said to him in response. And, despite having been poked rather sharply by a few people, he kept his composure and responded like a sensible human being. (In this case he also seems to have generally agreed, but that's not really relevant to the question of being sensible.)

Certainly didn't hurt my impression of him.

person [...] was banned because they asked to be for a while. To remove the temptation to spend too much time here.
I should hide this from my wife
She would go and ask Mr. Myers to ban me

You can ban yourself like I've just done.

You go to User CP > Edit Your Details > Custom User Title and enter "Banned"

Edit: Reset it to the default before I get into trouble

I was just about to say, Until Allen sees it and decides to make it a reality.

He once posted how he felt about people doing that. I can't remember
exactly what he said although it included some special characters like
        these %#@**^&@%

Yeah I remember those days, it stopped pretty quickly though after Allen made it clear he didn't find it quite so amusing.

    Michael,

I believe the plainspeak translation was that he considered it an invitation which he was inclined to accept.

Question: Why was my post deleted.

    Answer: Just Cause.
