4 Million Links, Guess What PR?

I was just reading a blog post on the use of article directories and the guy had listed his top 4 with some interesting stats.

Take a look at this extract:

Article Dashboard is a mother of an article directory with, according to siteexplorer nearly 4,000,000 links that have come from other article directories using their script. The site has a Google PageRank score of 4/10 and its Alexa traffic rank is about 5,000. Click on the sign up link in the top right hand corner, follow instructions and start submitting your content.

What does that tell you?

4 Million links and only PR4!

Hi will - they do have a tonn of pages too - think over half a million

also looking at the site they are not using the no follow attribute for the many categories they have so its all being filtered through

I know it doesnt mean much as it depends on how the links are created however if you think about it - it works out to be about 8 or so links per a page - that is if they were evenly distributed - which of course they are not -

but I think a page rank 4 sounds about right for a website of this size when looking at the inbound links

      Well, it certainly surprised me.

However, you seem to have a good handle on how PR is calculated. So are you saying that with less outbound links, their PR would be higher?
