How to promote a really cool website?

Two friends of mine are about to launch a website which has the potential to become really huge. It's a mix between youtube and last.fm and it's free of cost. Basically you get all the playlists from last.fm with youtube videos. They will launch it very soon and I want to help them get the word out. I was just putting together a small promotion plan but I realized that I could use some help from people who know better. Here are my ideas:
  • Since it has the potential to become viral I'll share it with my 200 StumbleUpon friends
  • I will also purchase 1000 views on SU in the hopes of getting it viral
  • I will do some promotion on delicious also
  • Maybe also purchase some reddit advertising? Does anybody have experience with this?
  • I will buy a bunch of gigs on fiverr from people offering to share my site with their tens of thousands of twitter and facebook friends
  • I also want to do some press releases but I'm not really experienced with that. Could somebody suggest where could be the biggest bang for investing about $20-50 in press releases?
  • I'll try to get news,tech and geek sites to cover the story. I'd like articles to be featured on sites like smashing magazine, mahalo, mashable etc. Any tips here?
  • I was also thinking about making a Wikipedia page. Do you think it would be a good idea?

Do you have any other ideas that might work? Take into consideration that the budget is really low, so the less money it costs, the better.

    In order to promote your website you should do social media marketing and some work of SEO regularly such as blog commenting,forum posting and write your own blogs.

    Guest posting on popular blogs in your niche is one of the fastest and cheapest ways to get free publicity.

    You can also write press releases (or hire someone from here, Guru, or oDesk to do so) and submit them to sites like PRWeb.
