How do they know I'm deleting their emails?

I've developed a habit over the years and usually
when I get a bunch of promotion emails in my
Gmail inbox, I simply tick the messages and delete
them in bulk.

BUT...

Some of the marketers almost immediately send me
the same message again!

Now, I understand that Aweber and other such
services allow you to choose members that didn't
open your message and send it to them again.

However, the timing of the second message is
something that is very interesting to me...

With some marketers, I get the same mail almost
immediately after deleting it or the next time I log
in, which is very often (usually almost an hourly thing).

Curiously enough, I don't get duplicate emails
from them when I don't delete the message.

So, my question is if there's a way these marketers
know when I deleted their message? Is there even
a way to know that?

I can't think of any way they could accomplish knowing when you delete their message that isn't illegal and untrustworthy. If they DO in fact have a means to detect a deleted message and automatically send another, I would say you're on the wrong people's lists!

Take some time and unsubscribe from lists you don't want to be bothered by anymore, it's well worth it.
