What do you rename "uncategorized" to?

INTERNET MARKETING

I like building wordpress blogs but every time that I do so I'm faced with renaming the default "uncategorized" category. I usually name it after my main keyword, but as I also often have a page with that title, I'm not sure that's the best option. What do you do?

Whilst we're on the topic of wp blogs, is there a way to exclude selected posts from being shown in the renamed "uncategorised" category, and shown ONLY in another category?

Been puzzling over these two questions for some time so I thought it was time to ask fellow Warriors for their thoughts.

Well you can rename to anything just about. I usually do something that is a big topic in the niche. Like if i were doing a wf blog I might do seo as a category.

Everything defaults to one category. You can uncheck the category and choose another when you are making the post. That way it will only show under the other category not the default one.

Anything else? Im pretty good with WP.

That makes sense Leanne, don't get why you would call a default category "everything else" though onlinetreason.

Mary, that's what I thought should happen, but I've checked and it doesn't, hence my question.

I'm making posts on a number of blogs with just one selected category (not the default category) checked, but I still get two posts - one in the default and one in the selected.
